I second you on the nerdy glee. I'm nearly in tears right now. Man, I'm such a sims nerd. :x Take a break if you need it! We can wait--semi-patiently.

Well, I've been typing up stuff. I have QUITE a few journals stacked up that have story bits inside them that I've never typed up.
When I get stuck, I find that re-typing a story piece helps loosen things up normally because details come out that didn't come out when I was channeling the story while hand writing. Don't know why that it, but it seems to work.
So now I hand write, then retype the story. Doesn't matter how I do it, but the second step must be typing. I've been using my DS to type stuff, and that helps too!
(This week's entry will actually have been typed completely on the DS. Awesome!)
I have pretty much all of the pieces written, and now comes the bit where I buff and polish and organize and connect. I'm excited for this part because things will move along faster than the first part and start to connect and build connections.
Also cleaned out all the old typed drafts from my little folder. Recycled the papers that I'd already used to death and made a pile of pages that can be printed on again. Printed out some story bits that I need to work on, and others for inspiration.
Think I'm good for now. I think I need to start making a list of things that are pre-approved for procrastination, though it is nice that I clean the house when I'm seriously procrastinating.

ARG! I'm an idiot idiot idiot! I was working on the latest entry. It's delicate, difficult to find the right feeling and make it understood what's happening.
I edited it on blogger, but had an issue crop up. Instead of copying the text I already had, I assumed it had saved because, y'know, I'd been saving as I sat here over the last hour fiddling. But NO it did not, and I didn't copy and I have an hour before I go to work.
ARG again. And I know better. I think it's still there though in my head. *goes picking through brain*
EDIT: Also why can't I spell experimentation? Experimentation! There, was that so hard me? Geeze! Good thing Firefox doesn't have a "smack you/quit it" plug in.

Argh, that sort of thing drives me nuts! Something very similar happened to me with one of my recent updates. The second time around, it didn't come out the way I wanted it to. It was perfect the first time. :\

Carla, exactly! It went the same way this time. I'm sure that it's not nearly as good as it was the first time through.
*munches chocolate* MMM! Thank you.

Okay, so I really like the ten facts meme. ;D
When it comes to a character, a lot of the time I'll end up just taking a good moment and writing down everything I know about them anyway. Each character usually ends up getting their own little file or something where I discuss their past, wants, fears, views on sex, any possible romantic history, and maybe delve further into other relationships (like what does Jimmy really think about Pat?). It's basically an expanded bio like what I put on the blog, but more in detail.
So weird little things are bound to spill out.

I found your post on that yesterday, and I loved the new information! The facts were interesting and I liked what they seemed to tell us about the character (or even what else they made me wish to know).

I always like these too! I might even start doing these for all my characters, behind the scenes. Really useful!

Thanks guys! I'm glad you're liking them because I really have fun doing them myself. Illandrya, I'm always surprised when I realize that one of my characters are behaving like me. All of the major ones do a little too much in different ways sometimes, lol I love the specific details that come out. So far, Jimmy's been my favorite. Like his loosing his virginity because the girl pounced him, and his starting smoking so he wouldn't have to kiss girls goodbye. Ah Jimmy, lol. And Aaron, wow, man. Any scene he appears in, someone is in danger. Most people are aware of the danger, but it's something that is not certain. But there's that one character who is certain. She's pissed him off and knows if she sees him again she's dead. And then she sees him again. That scene has been playing in my head for the longest time, even after I wrote it down which meant I wasn't writing it right. I think I've gotten it this time though.

You read Mary's intermission, right? I think you did. Aaron actually makes his appearance here, where once again he's a threat to the one character in the scene until some other people walk up and give her a break from his attention. Ah Aaron. He sort of comes across as a.. like.. beta fish in the pet store, lol.

With the organization of Liquid Story binder (and promise of another program to master), I've been inspired to gather all my journals and type up all the story bits I've been meaning to type up for a while, but haven't because I'm lazy and had no good organization system until now.
And WOW. Seems like half of each journal I have is not typed up. I've got an insane amount of pieces to write. Every character had a separate story, and a few characters no one even knows yet!
I've got a lot of typing I should be getting done.

Oh my, really? I used to be very good about writing things down. I'd write on a piece of paper or a journal, and then later on retype everything.
Of course, back in the day, a lot of the stuff I wrote was just straight to the computer.
Just this past year that I've fallen behind. I'm slacking, lol.

*throws the script down, beret askew, scratching head* I seriously think they've taken over. At least they're mostly listening to my "suggestions." When they want.
Not that I mind. If it sucks, I can blame the voices in my head.
Okay, it's not that bad, but there were pieces I had written out that have to be changed completely, lol. And as I was working on thinking through what needed to be changed, I realized that the script is out the window and we're just adlibbing now.
Mostly it's Alex's fault. He's the one that snuck in when I didn't want him to originally. I've whapped him already with the paper, and he just ignores it, carrying on with his charming smile. Man! These characters sometimes!

LOL! Yes, well, the truth is they're the ones really running the show - they just like to let us pretend we're in charge

Well! What a time this morning.
Alex's tattoos suddenly aren't working. (Wait, edit to clarify: They are working so long as I do not change his clothes.) I can't figure it out. I assume it's the DDS file I'm using, but I don't know how. Maybe the alpha, but nothing shows how to find the alpha in GIMP. It's not as simple as it was in TS2 where the alpha was a separate image. The alpha seems to be a part of the image.
But even then, it should work because it worked before. It's been a while since I changed Alex's shirt, but it was working.
Now my laptop is the TS3 gaming computer. It's actually got better specs than my desktop which I use for TS2. (Oh man, I sound like my mother. I actually got both computers from her. The desktop she didn't want anymore because she upgraded.)
At some point, something must have snapped in the power jack outlet for the laptop. I had a feeling, but when we took it to the shop, they actually said it was just a faulty cord, so we got a new one and all seemed better.
Then in the last couple of weeks, the power cord has becoming super heated, and my first replacement cord burned out. The first time it happened, I really had no clue. I thought it was the power cord's fault. (They're always getting into trouble.) It took a bit, but I caught on, did some online research, and found out that it is the power jack outlet on the computer.
So my second replacement cord has burnt out. Oops! I found out a couple of days ago and have no one else to blame but myself. I knew it was going to die and I should have saved everything and moved to the back up until I had some money saved up to fix the laptop.
But all of this is small potatoes. Luckily, Mom has the same computer as me, so though I can't plug it in, I can at least swap for a recharged battery and continue moving stuff over to my external hard drive. So that'll get fixed. It's a frustrating nightmare to play TS3 on the desktop, but I think I can work with it.
No, it's everything else that's anti-conductive to writing. (I have a feeling there's a better, less made up word for that, but "anti-conductive" is so much more dramatic.) Rough times ahead at work with one person who is all attitude and thinks it's okay to harass her neighbors with creepy staring and name calling. And loud music guy who has enough bass that I can feel it in my living room and won't answer the door when I knock.
On the plus side, I can indeed confirm that the Genesis controller works on the Atari 2600. Playing Mrs. Pacman was a dream last night!
Also, sorry I haven't been in a very commenting mood. I am reading, but I feel bad that I'm not commenting. I'm hardly even writing which always makes me feel a little off.

Goodness! What a day you've had! Well....I'm glad the Sega Genesis controllers work for your Atari, if nothing else.

Ack, what a mess! These computers will be the death of us, I think! It's such a hassle when all you want to do is tell a story, and the game/computer won't comply! Hope you get it all sorted out. And enjoy your Pacman in the meantime!

I am Pacman addicted, lol. Found out that I have Mrs. Pacman on the Genesis. I sort of forgot about that.
These computers will be the death of us. I got everything moved over to the desktop. Then I was terrified because it wasn't loading. Turns out I forgot about the old downloads in the program files. I didn't realize that for a few hours though, so I was a bit bummed in the mean time.
Now I got the game to load, everything works good. But for Alex's tattoo which utterly stumps me! I compared the image file of Alex's tattoo to the others that I used, and I really can't figure it out. It's the same. I may have to ask creators at MTS or something.
All the other accessory tattoos are showing up perfectly, even the extra stencils I made of the Southlands tattoos. I tried making a new tattoo for Alex, and I tried his tattoo on other sims; it's still not showing up.
What could it possibly be? There's usually ways around odd issues like this.
Also, Alex looks very weird without his tattoos, lol.

I fixed it. I copied the image onto another DDS file that was working, then made a new accessory using the ladies silk stockings. It's working now, so I managed to get out an update. ;D
