Does one exist? I figured if anyone would know, it might be someone here! I have animation boxes for all the EPs that I got from Jaydee's site but I can't seem to find one for the base game. I often find that some of the base game animations would be useful for different things I do with Sullivan, if only I had an easy way to use them.

Do you have Aikea Gunea's animation painting or Squinge's Hula and More? I've found the Hula and more to be handy because it adds a menu option on the sim.
And the reaction tester. That's already built into the game and has all the basics.

How about the reaction tester, under testing cheats? I know I've used it before for base game animations and overlays. I'm not sure how complete it is though.
That's such a great site, Jaydee's - I've been meaning to try out that AllMenus cheat, and the debug social tutorial. I bet there's a lot that can be done with those, without the need for a bunch of pose boxes.
Oh, and I have Squinge's Hula Dance mod, which covers a lot of base game stuff. That's handy for picture posing too. I really only have two posing mods: Squinge's Hula Dance, and Decorgal's box with the overlays (both are linked on my sidebar).
Which reminds me that I'm annoyed to no end that Decorgal's box can't be used on community lots! Anyone know a way around this?

Do you know, I think I have the hula mod somewhere and never installed it? LOL! That's going in my game right this minute! Aikea Guinea's animation paintings too. Laura, I just recategorised Decorgal's box (and a bunch of my other pose boxes) so that they show up on community lots. I used SimCategoriser but you can use SimPE too - just don't ask me how! There's nothing in the code that makes them not work on community lots - they're just not in the catalog. Once you get them there, they work fine. Snap reset is so handy when your Sims' faces or arms get stuck. My only quibble with that box is that the facial overlays don't work for kids! There are animation boxes that work for kids but none that I know will give you facial expressions. My kingdom for a kids' facial overlay box! MondayMorning, thanks for the links, especially to SWA. I'd never been there before.

Oh, Carla, btw, I did finally fix up that AllMenus cheat today, and it's AWESOME!!! You totally have to try it! It has so many new options, it's like getting a whole new EP, lol! It's pretty easy too!
I turn off testing cheats once I'm at neighborhood screen though, so I don't have that stupid code number in my pictures. And you can toggle the cheat on and off, which you'll probably want to do when you're just playing, because all those menus can be kind of a chore to get through. And tricky not to click on the wrong thing, just when you're used to where everything is supposed to be.
But it's so much fun to play with!

Oooh, okay! I'm going to try it out tomorrow. Not today because I'm playing Jacob and Claudia and the rest today and they're confusing enough. I'm all excited now!

Man, I wish TS3 had the amount of animation hacks/posing hacks as TS2! You gals are so lucky, but I'm holding out that they'll be invented in the future for us TS3 players!

I do not envy you TS3 storytellers, although I'm sure those clever modders will figure out posing and animation hacks for TS3 eventually. But the amount of creativity with some of the pictures in the TS3 stories I read, without any posing hacks, is astonishing.

Personally, I actually find I like the lack of posing hacks, lol. I think it's less pressure, and we're less boxed in (though we are limited because there really doesn't seem to be nearly as many animations as TS2 base had). A lot of the time when people use pose boxes and posing hacks, it doesn't look natural to me.

I'm cataloguing all my poses right now and while going through them, I've realised how few I actually have use for, so I can definitely see your point there. If only I could condense them all into three or four boxes, as opposed to the 6 bajillion I have right now!

another link for pose box catalogs (includes those already mentioned and a few more): ddsessionscc.blogspot.com/2009/09/pose-boxes-and-animation-hacks.htmlI'm going to second Lunar Fox on the whole issue though. Not only can the sheer number of options become paralyzing, many times the results look stiff and unnatural. I probably have hundreds of pose boxes but don't use any of them without tweaking with overlays, changing the line of sight, something.

Hmmm...pose boxes...I miss them. There are several at XMsims, SimsCave, and MTS. I believe Rose also has a few.
