Hi All, I've come here via reading Lakeside Heights -> Ruin -> Valley Sun Sims. I have also been reading the Edith Prescott Mysteries. I'm primarily a reader, but also with pretensions of being a writer. I play Sims1 and Sims3 - and am looking to set up a hood in Sims3 for writing. I do have Sims2 stories - www.simthing.net/story.htmYou can tell that they're a while ago - but still give the flavour of how I write. Anyways, that's me. Looking forward to interacting with you folk, and reading more fabulous stories! Kiri

Hi! So yay you read Sims 2 and Sims 3 stuff! I like open-minded people like that. My current project is full text. Wow - you still play Sims 1? I was just talking to my husband the other day about Sims 1 stories I remembered, and how they had a very different flavor to them than Sims 2 and 3 stories - most of the ones I remember were parodies or horror. I have to admit I do miss it sometimes - I loved Makin' Magic. So you're going to try a neighborhood style story in Sims 3? Raquelaroden - the author of the esteemed Edith Prescott Mysteries - is thinking about that too. Yay I'm glad you found your way here and joined and posted! I am also looking forward to interacting with you.

I read everything - Sims1, Sims2, Sims3, full text, comic-style, graphic novels. Anything I can get my hands on. I've been reading since I was 3, and I'm 48 now.
For me, the story is all.
I actually stopped playing Sims1 about 5 years ago, and started to play it again in the last few weeks. I missed creating for it. I have 2 websites simthing, and simports that's sims1 and sims2 objects. Makin' Magic was a lot of fun - and it's been really lovely to revisit it.
Most of the Sims1 stories I read were humour, and based around forum neighbourhoods. They were more play, and then write, rather than write and then play - what Sims2/Sims3 seem to tend to. I think Sims1 was harder to write for, because there wasn't any emotion on the faces of the sims like there is for the later versions.
Full text sounds interesting! Are you putting up on a blog? Or writing it separately? Anything I can get my hands on reading-wise I'm sure I'll enjoy.
I'm really glad Lunar Fox suggested to come here.

You definitely fit in here. Yay new friend! And yeah, I'm publishing it on my blog - 10 Story Index. The main character is the villain of Valley, my Sims 3 story, which is on the same blog. And yeah, that's him in my avatar. I'm also glad Lunar suggested that you come here. Will check out your sites later - I'm at work right now and I'd better get off here, lol.

Yay! Welcome Kiri! You should definitely try out the TS3 hood project....because I know if I'm the one to try it out I'm going to do it in a messed up, disorganized way. Rad is also thinking of doing that after she finishes her WYD challenge. If there isn't already a thread somewhere on here, I think I'll set one up to brainstorm the difficulties of TS3 hood play/prosperity-style play. But even if you don't do one of those projects, you should definitely write and definitely share! These people are so friendly and supportive.

Wow! that's a lot of people to welcome me! Neat! Thanks all!
Raquel! That sounds like a great idea. I'm not too sure what prosperity-style play is (although I suspect the way I play is not it. I keep my simmies poor!)
I think this weekend is going to be - testing hacks time, to see what I need, and how to customise them.
And pulling out the spreadsheet to get the families sorted. I had one for Sims2 and Sims1, but I've been just phutzing with Sims3 so far.

Lakeside Heights is basically prosperity style play. Making a thriving town and all that. Adding rules to make the game a little more challenging, realistic, and fun. I know it's an actual challenge, but most people seem to adapt it for their play style.
