This is to let you know - I have a blog! But there's nothing on it.... yet. celebkiriedhel.blogspot.comI've been making a man today. His name is Haki Wahawaha (and he has a sister Aoatea). Is that something people would be interested in seeing on the blog?

AARGH!!!! I just don't know what to do. The problem I'm having is that I have a family, where there is a minister, his wife and child, and grandchild. I need dog collar (that's a black shirt, with a bit of a white rectangle at the front. The problem is I can't find anything that looks anything like that in Sims3. Also I can't find the right hair for my elf. That is long in the back, and plaits in the front. I need both male and female versions. On the other hand - I'm not convinced I can make Haki and Aoatea in Sims2. What do I do? AARGH!

Oh, that is frustrating! Is there a shirt you could modify to add the minister's collar?
Yes, finding the right hair is always one of my biggest frustrations! Sometimes you just have a very precise image in your head and can't find the right stuff for it!

I think if I could find a turtleneck sweater where the collar is recolourable, with a blazer over it, I could be ok.
But the hair is a problem. I've gone through every hair site in the My Sims3 Blog, including downloading ones that 'might' work. But nothing close to it.

Thanks for finding that Katherine! It's not quite what I'm looking for, but I think you're right - I should see what I can do myself. This was an early iteration of what Santiel looked like in Sims2: The Sims3 Santiel is more refined, but the hair makes a huge difference to whether she looks cute, coquettish, or mysterious. I'm wanting mysterious and just a bit too other.

I'd help if I could but I don't even have the game installed at the moment since I can't find my disks and I haven't been keeping up with Sims 3 CC.
I very much approve of the Sims so far - unique and interesting.

No worries Stacy - I've built another family, and hanger on, and the rest of Santiel's family too. So getting there.
World Building phase - Sims, is progressing!

Humm.... Do I put this on my blog or not? Somehow I don't think people would be that interested. Families that are already in the town:This is the Mayor and his wife. He's a born politician, she's a born nectarian. (i.e. a lush). He has his finger in every pie and I'm not sure that he's a good guy. She married him because she's drawn to power, but was disappointed when the town started to die because of the main employer moving out. (More about that later). She's taken to drink to keep herself occupied. Families moving in:Brian is a minister, who has been called to the only church on Sunrise Island. There's not enough people there to support a minister full-time so he's going to have to find some other work to supplement his income. Judith is a school teacher, and will be taking over the small school on the island. It's not big enough to have more than one teacher - so the teacher supports them with their 'School on the Air' curriculum. All Brian and Judith ever wanted was a large family around them, what they got was Grace. Grace is a rebellious teenager who has rejected anything her parents believe in. She's about to get into some very serious trouble. Yes. Even on a small island. Santiel and Meldarion and brother and sister. Bellsulion is Santiel's husband. They are elves (obviously) taller than everyone else, and have their own customs and traits which make folks naturally uncomfortable. Adam, Iris and Chaz met up on the run. They are 3 teenagers squatting in a disused building - living life as they can and trusting no-one but each other. Haki and Aoatea Wahawaha are Maoris who've moved to Sunrise island to get away from it all. But they bring it with them.

I usually find profiles interesting, so I don't see why you shouldn't put them up? You might ask Laura and Carla how many hits they get on their profile pages to see if it's worth it. The only thing I don't like about profile pages when it comes to projects like that is that you have to change out the pictures and update the information so often....but I'm pretty lazy.

That sounds like a great idea! I will! Hmmm - I suppose it depends on what I put on the profile page. I think that's the other thing that's holding me back - because I don't know what to put on their profile pages.

Ooh! I'm interested! They all look wonderful - nice and unique. And the tidbits about their personalities and stories - omg, I want to read the story now! Now, I say!

Humm.... This is babble. I'm starting to get really worried about November 1. That I won't be ready. That I'll write crap - well that's a given. That the game will completely crash. (It has been for the last day - I think it's a CC issue). That I'll make every excuse under the sun not to do it. That I need to start now, or I'll lose it. That I'll lose steam halfway. That some catastrophic life event will occur (will get a job, mum dies - both are very much on the cards) and will kill the story. I want to live in the moment, but planning a hood takes me out of that brain space. AARGH!!!!! Where is that getting squooshed by a runaway moose smiley when I want one!

Just do it! :3 Can completely understand that. It's hard to get started, but once you've started, I'm sure you'll be fine. Can't wait! Maybe we just need a run away moose smiley.

I have been researching the runaway moose smiley. I think it's do-able! I always seem to have a pre-writing meltdown. I took your 'Just do it' to heart - I added some notes based on a new scene I want for the Tuckers to introduce the town. It felt good! And I ended up researching into how to 'reinvigorate small towns'. Google Search is a wonderful thing! It's added new ideas for the ROS too I ended up removing all my custom content, and re-installing my game. I've got two new familes, making 19 Sims I've created. I've decided to do Dossiers in LSB for them tomorrow. So perhaps I'll stop haunting this forum for distraction purposes.

2 more families - both existing in town already. Firstly there's the doctor When I was very young, I used to watch a tv show called "A Country Practice". Here's the picture of one of the doctors from it. See a similiarity? And Secondly, there's the farmer, his wife and 3 kids. I played around with heights in this family. Ruth is slightly shorter (but a very little bit) than Henry, and Edward is a bit taller than the average teen, by a tiny bit as well. Maggie is the tomboy and Sarah likes Pink.

According to my mother, A Country Practice was my favourite show when I was little (I used to call it "A Crunchy Practice", lol). But anyway, I definitely see a resemblance there. She makes a great looking Sim!

OK... It's Nov1 time for another melt-down! Because of Late Night, I moved my ambitions game to a safe place.... of course I completely forgot where the safe place was. I've finally found it - but I can't find all my families in the old game. Then I've just spent the last 2 hours looking for the Sims3packs for the families - and found them. So the only one missing now is Sarah.... who I can rebuild because she's the same structure as Maggie, and I keep photos of everyone's CAS - clothing pages and traits and favourites. I've finally got the game to accept that I have Galaad - and that took some work. But of course, it is completely empty. But I thought what I'd do is build each thing as I need it for the story. So today, I need to build the manse. And.... hmm.... the first scene has the minister referring to God. I suppose I better put up a warning on the blog right from the beginning? Of couse - I'm not writing scenes in order - that would be too easy for me. And I still haven't worked out if I post up the writing as I go - 50K words of blurt - or if I hold off for a month, and post up the setting up this month, and then the episodes as they are editted and illustrated by the sims.
