I've never read Jane Austen, so I'll have to take your word for it

The chat animation needs more variety. Seems like Sims are either joking around or being completely repulsed by one another. Can't they just have a serious, sombre conversation without the spiteful body language? Add that to the constant swooning over romance Sims and this photoshoot is a lot more annoying than I'd expected

There is a mod that Decorgal did to lessen the animations on the talk.

I'm on such a writing high right now, and I really don't want to come down.
BUT, I have my last exam tomorrow, and I haven't been able to bring myself to study until now. I also leave tomorrow, so I have a bunch of chores I have to complete too. *sigh*

Since I won't get a chance to post in the next twenty-one and a half hours unless I manage to wake up early tomorrow (which is doubtful, at best), I've just posted my last post of the year. Total post count for 2010: approx. 290.

Just got back from a creative writing class. The prof put up a picture of some guy and gave us twenty-odd minutes to write a short story about him. After that, a few people went up to read their stories. They were all somber, third-person and dialogue-free, which made me feel weird because mine was first-person with dialogue and attempts at dark humor. Still, I guess at least I felt original? I never volunteered to read mine because I wasn't sure if people would be comfortable with the subject matter, but I left feeling pretty good about myself nonetheless. Anyway, while I'm still on my high, I'm off to start the next Naroni, and then hopefully work on the strip club/brothel novel

That's awesome. You should feel good about yourself for that. Your mind definitely works differently from most when it comes to stories. Your mind did spawn Florian after all-- the only character I've ever run across that can possibly steal a scene without even being onstage and that's all thanks to your humor.

I've never really thought of Roderick as LE - but that does make the most sense. (I've always thought of him as Lawful Stupid). I do like that. Yay for D&D Alignments

Awesome, lol. Loving the quotes bit. It's almost like a little quiz, can you place those quotes? Haha.

Heheh... glad you guys got a laugh out of it. I'd actually forgotten some of the less recent quotes there. If there was a "Lawful Stupid", then Roderick would so be in that category

Need a laugh? Start up Sims 2 and make two sims make out on a couch while you frequently pause and unpause the game--looks freaking ridiculous

The good news: lazy-ass department finally released the major application package. The bad news: one of the requirements is a fucking cover letter. What the hell? They're already asking for at least twenty pages of sample material, so shouldn't they be able to determine whether I'm any good or not without any mission statement bullshit from me?

A cover letter is the summary so that the lazier ones can read the summary instead. It's not actually mission statement - it's the short version of 'Why I would be awesome in this course and you'd be doing the world a favour.'

Is there such thing as updating too frequently? I mean, whenever I see a new story chapter from someone at the top of my blogroll, I get all excited, all "OMG, SO-AND-SO UPDATED!" and rush to their site to read it. And yet, I sometimes get the sense that no one really does that when I update, perhaps because I update so often that it's not really a surprise and therefore not all that special. Sort of one of those "Oh, another one--I'll get to it later" deals.
On the other hand, I've seen plenty of awesome stories that went months and months without updating and by the time they finally did, they'd lost almost all of their readers.
I don't know. Maybe I should update less frequently, but I have so many ideas that are a long ways off and the only way I can get to them is if I get through all the other stuff first (I'm quite obsessive about my chronology), and therefore I want to get it done quickly. Also, I lack the patience to finish writing a post and just sit on it for a day or two--the second it's done, it just has to go up.
