1. How did you start writing, i.e. What happened that made you realise that writing was your thing?
I started writing when I was in sixth grade, I think. My brother and I were into the Mario Bros at the time, and I was basically writing (although in my head) fanfiction about them. Eventually, I would go on to create my own characters in middle school, and that's how many of my original characters (that I still have to this day) were born.
2. Who is your favourite character of your own?
I have a few favorites. From my non-sims stories, I have this celestial character named Me-Non (who, by the way, was the origin for my online pseudonym of Infinity Goddess). He's extremely complex, and even as he is technically a god, he is able to feel many human emotions even as he lacks human ego. He's always got some kind of agenda that only his offspring Ke-Lah The Creator, Mendor The Preserver, and Death seem to know. (There is also Dia The Eternal Judge, but she is not an offspring entity of Me-Non's.)
From my Sim story Mikhailachev Manor, there is Sergei, Sacha, Rasputin, and Kliment who tops them all (although I do love most of my vampires and zombies, if not all of them).
3. What do you eat/drink while writing?
Typically, I would drink water, but other drinks I prefer is green tea, apple juice, or soy milk. I never eat while writing.
4. Tell us about yourself - Your interests
I like Japanese anime, Japanese Rock (favorite musician being Anna Tsuchiya), movies - particularly of the sci-fi/fantasy variety, though I do like other films with a serious plot, political activism, science, drawing, comics, and of course, writing.
5. Do you have other creative pursuits that affect how you tell your stories? (Such as photography, creative writing, etc.)
I run three online graphic novels. They generally came first before the Sim stories, and I do have a few characters from Mikhailachev Manor that originated from a series that I wrote called The Outcasts. The difference there is that the characters in question were not vampires or zombies in that series, but they did possess telepathic and pyrokinetic abilities.
6. Why did you start creating and posting sim stories?
I was reading other people's sim stories and figured to give it a try for myself. The question was where to start. Then Rasputin was born in my game and as he grew older, I knew I had to write a story about him and it took off from there.
7. Do you use Maxis pre-made sims, original sims, sims based on other sources (TV, movies, books, other games), or some combination of these? Why?
I've used Ashley Pitts in the Main Story, as a live-in boyfriend to Rasputin's great-granddaughter Ana Mikhailacheva. And then there was Checo Ramirez, who was the one who confronted the Briggs over their acceptance of the Mikhailachevs in Bluewater Village.
There will be some others from the Frat Brothers' house that I have future plans for, but I ain't saying who just yet, only that this particular character is going to show up in The Beginning.
8. How long does it take you to create a new character for a story?
It doesn't generally take all that long. I use the story itself to develop the character, but for the initial creation? Really...not that big of a deal.
9. Do you have one character that frustrates you more than any of the others?
He's not really Sims-related, again, (though he could be in the future - you never know with me), but his name is Tortoise. He comes from my graphic novel series The Reptilia, and is unusual because he's a lot older than he looks. He keeps questioning the feelings of a woman named Susana Miller towards him, especially after he tells her he's an 85-year-old man trapped in the body of a man in his twenties (she's twenty-nine, if you want some context). It makes you want to headdesk when you know that Susana doesn't care about the age; only that Tortoise was the first man who came along and understood her on a level that few have before him.
10. Do you like using aliens, vampires, zombies or any other non "normal" characters?
Yep. I am a sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural writer, so naturally, I would use them. My next Sim story is going to have gods in it. Hehe.
11. Do you usually create backstories for your characters?
Not right off the bat. They come as the inspiration hits me and the story flows.
12. Can you give us any hints about what is coming up in your stories? (Oh, come on...)
I am in the process of getting another Sim story series ready for launch this weekend (hopefully) that has nothing to do with Mikhailachev Manor, but is based on one of my graphic novels called The Reptilia (though it will be given a different name for reasons that will become obvious later). As for Mikhailachev Manor, I'm putting future sequels on hold until after I complete The Beginning, which isn't going to end for some time yet (I have pictures ready up through chapter 75, heh).
As for The Beginning itself, there aren't really much in the way of surprises to speak of, as it is a prequel. Obviously, there is going to be the deaths of the Brothers' parents and eventually their sister, but I would think that's pretty expected, considering that Piotr, Sergei, and Pavel are all immortal creatures and that their parents and sister all stayed human and mortal.
So...if you guys have any additional questions, feel free to ask.
