So I decided to work on some practice pictures this morning before leaving for work. I loaded the house I wanted to play, got the poseboxes I wanted to use, grabbed my trays enabled my cheats and summoned a friend of the family over with Inge's cat teleported got ready to start my photos. I made the visitor selectable with the simblender and lo, she couldn't use the posebox I'd been planning to use. I sent her way and re-summoned with the simblender made her selectable and she still couldn't use the posebox that I wanted, nor could she use the freezer clock.
I can probably work around this, because I'm sure I can come up with approximate poses using other boxes that my selected visitors can use.
But its more than one poseboxes and this is a fairly lengthy story. So what I really want to be able to do is have more control. Are there other objects that will make a vistor selectable and allow them more interactions, is there a way to enable the posebox and the freezer clock for visitors? Suggestions please, I am quite frustrated.

Well, I use InSimenator to make visitors selectable and it's always worked for me. I believe any hack object to make visitors selectable is just unlocking a function of the testingcheats cheat. It doesn't make sense to me that you weren't able to have the visitor use Freezer Clock or the posebox. I've never had the need to enable poseboxes or Freezer Clock for visitors.

I'm using the simblender. Whenever I use it to make a visitor selected there have always been somethings I couldn't do with that visitor. Maybe its not functioning quite the same way or maybe my download is corrupted. I'll try downloading it again.

Did you get this resolved? I don't use the simblender (also use the InSimenator), but as long as the visitor is selectable, you should be able to use the pose boxes and the freezer clock. The only time I have that kind of problem is when the visitor is on his or her way out of a community lot and I can't stop them.

Merola's mind control mirror (http://www.simchaotics.net/Files/MerolaSims2/MindControlMirror.htm) seems to give visitor temporary status of being a permanent resident on the lot, enabling them to use items that are usually only accessible to residents.
However, using it with the freezer clock may cause irreversible damages to the lot or the character files. If you are planning on playing the game, or using the lot again in the future, it is best to quit the lot without saving once you have got the photos you need.
Another option is to tweak the pose box itself in SimPE, making it usable by visitors.

lepifera, have you come across this before? I have never had any issue with pose boxes and visitors. If they're on the lot and selectable, I've always been able to use any pose box and I have hundreds of pose boxes. The same goes for the freezer clock: I use it in residences, community lots, hotels, everywhere and it always works on anybody once I've selected them. This almost sounds like some kind of hack conflict.

Beth,
I tend to use animation instead of pose box, and actually I use tham quite sparingly. What I know from trying to control visitors on a lot is that visitors are limited to only a subset of interactions with household items that are fully available to residents. Visitors can't use showers unless they were asked to stay over night, etc.
I did have a few experiences where the sim got stuck in a certain position with the combination of freezer clock and moveobjects on. I could not unfreeze the sim to resume normal gameplay interactions. Playing it to be safe, I exited without saving because I was worried about the lot becoming unloadable if I did save.
Another way to go around the problem may be to use sim blender to make the visitor a resident on the lot. Do the photo shoot, and exit without saving, the visitor and the lot would return to the state before the lot is ever loaded.

I think I have a resolution. Inge's meeting controller makes visiting sims residents and I have all options with them. I do have some concern with the visiting sim getting stuck. So I'll be setting up shoots with the intention quiting without saving. As a matter of fact I prepared to quit without saving any time I use poseboxes.
I would like to know how to tweak the poseboxes in SimPE. How would I do that?

When you use the meeting controller visitors are treated as full residents, but dissappear as soon as the meeting is over. Its a lot like making the visitor selectable, but I am able to use all of the same interactions that resident sims use; something I was not able to do when I made visitors selectable via the sim blender. I couldn't change a visting selectable sim's clothing or use certain poseboxes or the freezer clock, visitors would freeze if I used certain poseboxes etc... Calling a meeting allows you to summon selected sims when the meeting starts, they are treated as residents until the meeting ends and they return to their homes when you end the meeting.

In case anyone still wants to know how to tweak objects so that visitors can also use them on the lot:
1. Open up the custom object download with simPE 2. Select Pie Menu Functions (TTAB) in the Resource Tree menu 3. In the Plugin View, one would find the list of Interactions available on the pose box or object in general 4. Proceed through the interaction one by one, and place a check mark next to the visitor in the Flags box under the Settings tab to the right.
This is for the Sims 2 game.
