Hey everyone,
I've only recently started using wordpress and I'm getting used to all the widgets etc but something I see loads of people do but can't seem to do myself is link to the next part of a story.
Like in the valley of the sun does at the end of the story you can click to go to the next chapter like strings to dark.
If anyone could tell me how to do that I'd be grateful, thanks.

I'm assuming you mean the previous and next links, rather than just a hand-coded link at the end of the entry?
I'll ask my hubby when he gets home tonight (if nobody else knows). I'd like to add something like this to my Wordpress blog too, which doesn't have it. A lot of Wordpress templates seem to be lacking the previous and next entry links. My Sims story is on Blogger though, and most Blogger templates come with that standard.

Yeah that's what I mean sorry the next and previous links. Well I have seen someone with the same wordpress template as I use and they can do the next link codes, so hopefully I can use them.
Thanks for asking your hubby later.

I'm pretty sure you could add it manually by left/right justifying the words and then adding the links to the text. Won't that work?

I never thought of doing that but that should work, thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's encoded into the layout you use. How many entries have you got on your site? Also check your settings to see how many entries per page you have. For example, I have mine set to 4 entries to show up on the front page of my blog for one site and 2 entries to show up on the front page of my blog for the other site. If you have 7 or 10 entires and have only posted 3, the next and previous links won't show up until you reach the 7 or 10 entries and it flicks to the next page.
I've never had to code any of that in myself and it always appears on my blogs.
EDIT: Just went over and clicked on the latest chapter of my IHS story and the "next" or "previous" chapter links appear automatically so it probably depends on the layout you use. The other option is if it doesn't come with the layout you are using, chances are, the other person has probably got a CSS upgrade (pay) that allows you to edit the CSS and update it on your blog but as I said, you have to pay for that option.

They don't appear automatically with my layout, but if I manually put a link in at the bottom and point it toward the previous entry, then later, WP will go back all on its own and automatically add a link that points toward the next entry.
