Also, new posters *points to intro thread* Introduce yourselves. I demand a random fact from each of you. That's serious business. I'm not in the habit of demanding. Yes, ma'am! Done! Edit: Laura, I haven't got her in my game yet but yesterday was NYE and I didn't get a chance to try. Today, I'll put her in and make sure she shows up.

Hi Maisie! I got your comment. I took the middle of the two and put you down for 6 mo - 1 yr. I'll finalize all of the time slots after everyone is signed up. Now back to NYE fun!!! Happy New Years everyone!!!

OK, that seemed to work fine! I was worried it didn't because I didn't see her in my Saved Sims at first but she was there - just several pages back!
Samantha now is living in my Family bin, with all her stats fixed up and a prisoner tag in her inventory so she doesn't show up anywhere before she's supposed to!

Here... *waving hands* Oh, and I just realised, I forgot to say, my hood is called Richmond. I've already put Samantha in my game and we've had a bit of 'unofficial' off-the-record fun... in the interests of figuring out this blog thing, I made an entry here: tiny.cc/Ybslm (Note: this takes place in a parallel universe and has nothing to do with her 'real' future visit to Richmond ). It was also a good chance to play with the settings of my game graphics and my screen capture program, now that people other than me will see my pictures I'm trying to figure out what makes an improvement, what doesn't, what makes my game unbearably slow, what overheats my laptop... I think I'll have to make some compromises for the latter especially but I'll see how it goes. Really getting excited about starting a blog now!

Happy New Year everyone! I just slept until almost noon, lol! I'm glad to see you guys have her working in your games starrsim (Apple Valley), I know you said you had no preference, but we're needing more short stays than long ones at this point. Would you be okay with a 6 month slot? Also, Riverdale, are you reading? Would you be okay with a shorter slot? I also wanted to discuss the short vs. long thing - as I'm sure Lunar will be able to show us, you don't need a long span of time to tell a lot of story, so I don't want you guys with the shorter spots to feel like you're getting shafted or anything, lol! You still get to take the same amount of time as everyone else to work on it. And I only figured Sam should stay in one place at least for longer (like 3-4 years or something) because it felt unlikely that she'd be traveling for 12 years and never wanted to settle anywhere for more than a year or two, maybe even like she thought she found a false ending or something. So there's my reasoning for that. Also, remember to think outside the box. Maybe if you have a shorter stay, your story might not end up being about Samantha, but how she affected your neighborhood while she was there. We can dig all kinds of stories out of this project

I've been doing a little research on all your neighborhoods, and I've revised our "itinerary" (see back on page 1) and I think it's starting to shape up Starrsim and Maisie, considering your normal posting speed and depth of story, I'd like you guys to head up Shana at the end with two shorter stays. I think you guys could help Shana make sense of everything that's happened as Samantha's journey is drawing to a close. Tanja, it looks like you also post rather quickly, so I'll have you and Blackcat split 18 months each. If we don't have anyone else sign up, we'll adjust the remaining time to other slots. So what do you all think about this schedule? Be honest please! I want this to work as best it can for everyone

Oh, which reminds me that I'd like you guys to either update here, or email or tweet me the link when you post a new Samantha story, so I can add it to my list. (Even if she only appears as a part of some other character's update, I'd like to include it still) I don't want to miss any of them

Oh, and I totally forgot to even mention money! But Lunar, since you noted that she had limited resources in your entry, I was just curious how much you started her off with? I did imagine she would have limited resources though, especially without her mother around. If I remember correctly, the only thing she really owned that was hers was a car that her mom bought her. She'd probably sell that though, and use the money towards this trip. It'd be neat if we could keep it consistent from one story to the next, so you guys should swap notes on how much net worth she's accumulated when she leaves your town

OH, that's a good point. I generally play for story, so I don't play the same as the more serious players, but bbop might like to know that detail when I hand her off. I started her off with the typical 20k, but I imagine she wouldn't have that much. What's a good starting amount? 5k? How much is a car worth anyway?

It would have been one of the more expensive cars (her mom was The Diva, after all So maybe about 10k? I did figure she'd be cut off from her mother's money via credit cards and such, so it'll be interesting to see how she fares without them You don't have to keep track of the money if you don't usually, just in terms of the story maybe note whether you think she would have gained or lost much of what she started with by the time she leaves.

Okay, 10k sounds perfect. I certainly won't stress over it ('cause you know me- what's the opposite of perfectionist? Lazy? My real name?), but it's good to note for the next player. Lunar, WOW, I totally LOVE your entry! I love your writing, so I'm not surprised. Everything you write just sucks me right in. Wow, awe, thank you Maisie.

Blackcat, if you're reading, I was wondering if you had a blog yet for me to link to? I know you've got the test one started, but I didn't know if you'd continue with that or start another. No rush or anything, but let me know when you've decided, because I have all the neighborhoods linked on my story master list page.

I have some questions about the traveling part of Samantha. I read the link Apple posted in a comment at Lakeside Heights, but it's not completely clear to me; is Samantha going to travel on a lot, or is she recreated in CAS in every hood she visits?
