MedleyMisty has created a monster, because now I'm spamming the boards of her forum.  anyhow, my story is about hawt fanged studs.   Aubrey Cooper has a dark past; a past that ultimately comes back to haunt her.
Aubrey has met a fellow student in college who is the lurve of her life, but something happens to him. She searches to the ends of the earth for him, but stumbles onto something she never expected... something she’d never dreamt of. It was a dark, sinister world filled with dangerous creatures… creatures who were dead, but also somehow alive. Would Aubrey ever truly feel complete again? Or would the bloodthirsty monsters suck the life right out of her, creating a shell of what she once was? Or worse, would Aubrey fall in love with one of those mysterious creatures?
hehehe…Story only has 3 chapters so far, and I update every Wednesday. Contains violence, language, adult themes, and disturbing content. I will update the blog more often once the Late Night EP is released. And this entire paragraph was just more nonsense you didn't really need to know about. *hugz* ;D I will update the thread as I post new chaps. |

Oh, and don't get discouraged if this thread doesn't get many replies or you don't see replies on other people's threads. We tend to comment on the blog more often than we do on threads. And it's cool to keep bumping when you update - no rules about double-posting here.
Major respect for updating once a week. I can't keep up a schedule like that anymore.

Oh, I totally won't get discouraged. It's no biggie at all, and like I said it'll get bumped anyhow whenever I update. ;D Long nonsensical ramble coming: I started my first story on May 5 and promoted some on the Sims 3 forums, and had an astounding readership of about 5 for the next two months! Woot. Then I promoted again on the forums, but this time in Gen. Discussion. The readership then went up to 30 to 90 per day. Just from promoting in the gen. discussion area; before I tried the story section numerous times. Then FuryRed found my blog thanks to one of my readers and it really helped... she'd posted an article about my blog. But what I've noticed is that my views tend to go down with each chapter I post. Sometimes it's a slight change, other times more obvious. WTH? I always wondered about why that was. I guess my writing goes to shit with each chapter, lol. Just joking.  well I used to update 'Riverview' every two days 'cause I was so obsessed with it. Can't do that with the vamp one, since it's still 6 or so weeks until the EP comes out. Now I'm going crazy not being able to write and post as often....  As you can tell, I don't work outside the home. By the way, I think you posted a couple months ago about wanting to go 'pro' with writing? That's what I tried to do last year, and that's why I'm happily writing Sims 3 stories, lol. The publ. industry sucks ***** *****. I censored myself as not to offend anyone. ;D sorry if I've discouraged you about that, I was just never ever ever cut out for that stuff, but that doesn't mean you aren't. ;D |

I'm ambivalent about the pro thing. Sometimes I imagine it and it's all fun and cool, other times I'm all "I don't need no corporate gatekeepers! Art is free, man!" And hey, I want more activity on here. Brain needs food!  Spam all you want. Oh man - I'm neurotic about my numbers too. They are about 8-10 times lower now than when I was regularly updating Valley. The internet is a fickle thing. Like now, at 10 in the morning, I've already gotten more views than I did for the whole day yesterday. One possible cause of lower readership - a lot of Sims story readers are young and so now they're back in school and have less free time. Or maybe they're just not the type to pay a lot of attention to things and they looked at your first update when they saw the thread and then forgot about it and haven't checked back. I'm slowly learning that it doesn't have much if anything to do with the actual quality of your work. I used to update Valley twice a week. My goal is to update 10 once a week, but 10.07 is kicking my ass. It should be done by Saturday night, though. Hopefully. Hey, no censoring!  |

Geesh, I hear you on that. My God, you can't even use that many 'ly' adverb words in your manuscript, and you're supposed to leave out prologues, not supposed to begin a story with a dream sequence, and words like 'then, that, and, but,' are unnecessary. The list goes on and on. And even when your shit's polished to a fine shine, you still get rejected. And then there's the scams.... Oh, the scams.  Art is supposed to be free, that's how it should be. But I had so much advice from editors, etc. that were so picky about things, that I had writer's block innumerable times, simply because I could NOT write what/how I wanted. Thanks for letting me spam the forums! haha, lol. I hear you about the numbers. I don't get it. When I was doing my first story, it got so bad that I finally just stopped looking at the stats! I didn't look at them for weeks at a time! Dang, how crazy. But it worked, and I stopped obsessing and just kept writing! I think I may need to do that again. It just sounds so selfish, lol. When FuryRed did an article about my first blog, I got 2000 hits (literally) in ONE day! So I thought, wow, I'm gonna have that many readers! Nope. But I can't complain. Apparently 1800 people were just curious about my blog because FuryRed liked it. but again I cannot complain, I'm lucky. I'm just whining. That's another one of my 'traits', is whiner, lol. Yes it's a very fickle thing. It's also weird and makes you think the blog stats are fouled up in some way. good point about some of 'em being in school. Never thought of that. Oh, also a lot of peeps have probably bought the newest stuff pack (about cars) and are playing around with that, lol. Well good luck with that! ;D I hope you get it finished. As far as the censoring goes, I'll just say this: the publ. industry sucks b@ll$. Haha. Hey, I edited this ramble because at the time I wrote this, I was grumpy from having a cold, and high from the Nyquil. XD /ramble |

So I haven't yet read any of your chapters, but I feel like a dingbat. It took me 3 days to realize that you linked your story in your signature. I was pulling my hair out trying to find your story that everyone was raving about.

lol, sorry I haven't been on here in a while. I meant to do updates, but kept getting side-tracked here and there... like, fighting with trolls on the Sims 3 forums... Ahem. Anyhow, I've posted chapters 4, 5, and 6 of Bloodlust.
