Chapter 43 in The Beginning marks the birth of another minor character on the scene - the Servo named Andrei Wilsonoff. The Mikhailachevs are mostly a family skilled with many things, robot-building being one of them. They use robots a lot in no small part because of the family members who are vampires. Many Servos are built over the course of the years, but they are referred to as Keepers, Servos that act as two-legged versions of SentryBots. Andrei and Mik are typical household Servos. Currently, over 600 years in the future, Andrei is the only household Servo of his kind still in existence, as Mik was eventually destroyed by his own master Pavel I, who did it as a way to finally get over his troubled past and move on. Andrei currently lives with the half-alien vampire scientist Ivan Mikhailachev-Wilsonoff, who is Rasputin's maternal uncle and his vampire wife Natalia Mikhailacheva-Wilsonoff in Ivan's Lab. Initially, he was built by the son of Natasha Mikhailacheva-Wilsonoff, whose name was Mikhail as a way for Mikhail to cope with the death of his brother Konstantin when he was fifteen years old. Natasha, was of course, the twin sister of Sergei, thus making Mikhail his nephew. The name of Wilsonoff comes from Natasha's American husband Daniel. (Fun fact, Daniel was initially a dormie that moved in with the original Mikhailachev kids at their dorm. It would be ironic that I caught a glimpse of his exact YA clone one day while I was snapping pictures for future college scenes in The Beginning!)

These two are amongst my most favorite couples in the Mikhailachev Manor universe: Sergei and Sacha. This is a picture of them that I posed and shot: pics.livejournal.com/infinitygoddess/pic/0007rzaqIt should be noted that Sergei and Sacha never really "got married". During their younger days, we are of course, talking about a time when same-sex marriage was talked about, but the states did not have it legalized. Sacha did eventually change his name to Romanov-Mikhailachev, even though he had no real attachments to his broken family and did it not long after the old age death of his brother Luka. Still, Sergei and Sacha act like a married couple, referring each other as "husband". They figure that between the commitment ceremony and the mating bond that they share as vampires are enough to show their commitment and love to one another. As you can see in the picture, the love never dies ('course if it did, Sacha would literally die), even after over 600 years have passed since they had that ceremony.

In recent chapters of The Beginning, Maria is making some noise about having her father live with her.
In the world of Mikhailachev Manor, zombies are often maligned because of how movies have depicted them. However, because they are weak, they really don't have the strength to fight back. Maria figures that she is the logical choice to protect her father, as zombies and vampires are both immortal creatures that never age and don't die unless they are killed. By this time, Maria knows that her future will be the same as that of her uncles, for she displayed the signs of a dormant vampire (no need for eating or sleeping, and for the full-blown vampires, she had a distinct scent that dictated what her future held).
Now, while typically spontaneous vampirism in the Mikhailachev family affect only those Mikhailachevs who are LGB, it is important to note that Maria's brothers Vladimir and Boris II, in spite of being a gay and a bisexual men respectively, never become vampires like their lesbian sister. The reason for this is simple; genetic diversity. When there are more Mikhailachevs around, there are more chances for inbreeding, which causes the spike in the spontaneous vampire populations in later generations of Mikhailachevs.
Demyan and Daniil Mikhailachev, the two men who inflicted this upon their descendants, were adamant that their work never dies. They knew that a more diverse gene pool would dilute everything they worked for, so they made it so that Mikhailachevs would be attracted to distant relations. Their son Boris I and his wife Anya were cousins twice removed, hence why all three of their sons were dormant vampires. Thus, inbreeding is not uncommon (and in fact, Rasputin's own parents were cousins twice removed as well; the only saving grace for Rasputin not being a spontaneous vampire was the fact that his grandmother Miri was of Chinese heritage. He does, of course, get bitten in order to become a vampire, however. His uncle Ivan's saving grace was his alien heritage and the fact that his father Richard's biological mother was from the "outside").
Of course, Demyan and Daniil also introduced the concept of same-sex pregnancy into the mix. It has the practical purpose of all procreation, and obviously, because of the trouble adoptions would cause (seeing that Mikhailachevs are protected from the whims of vampires by nature of their blood), it keeps it "in the family" so to speak.

Just a little note - I will be moving out of my dorm on Friday. This will likely mess up Saturday's updates, because I have to stop overnight at my brother's house to drop off my belongings (he lives in Ohio and I'm only three hours away here in Pittsburgh; my dad lives in New Jersey, and it's going to be a eight-to-nine-hour trek from bro's house to my parents' house and dear ol' Dad's helping me move out).
So I might just end up doing a four-to-three chapter update for MM. I also expect to end The House of Akim at Chapter 61 this weekend. I'll soon be working on another Sims 2 story project that's completely separate from Mikhailachev Manor (though, I'm far from done with that for some time to come).

So, in the future, I'll be adding some characters, particularly since I just recently got my hands on Fun With Pets (the original intent was to get just Pets but the Best Buy I went to didn't have much in the way of singular EPs - they only had the collections and Fun With Pets was among them, so now I have M&G and Family Fun Stuff as well as Pets - yay for having to update my mods for AL and discovering bugs along the way). pics.livejournal.com/infinitygoddess/pic/0008509dOne of the biggest reasons I was hot for Pets was of course, the creature feature. I wanted to create a storyline involving werewolves, and so it'll be interesting to see how the Mikhailachev vampires would react to werewolves on the scene. I may even decide to write a separate Sim story involving werewolves. So who knows?

Just gotta love the 'brains' Rofl. Apparently, that's what Pavel was thinking as I turned off the headlines. That thought bubble stayed hanging for a bit. XD Of course, it being Sims 2 and without the zombie apocalypse hack from MATY, nothing ever comes from a zombie's desire for grey matter. Obviously, I don't have such a hack for the simple reason that I don't want a zombie apocalypse for the purposes of MM, of course and I wouldn't want Pavel to attack his own family. Heh.

Chapter 66 in The Beginning marks a turning point in the life of the man we know of as Aleksandr Romanov-Mikhailachev. It's important to note that Sacha's initial intention was to drop the name of Romanov in his name altogether. But then he meets his last surviving brother in the days (Sergei had killed Sacha's other brothers in the earlier chapters because they found out that Sergei and Sacha were vampires - Luka Romanov was spared this fate because he was working that fateful night) before he dies and changes his mind, thus ending up with the hyphenated last name. So what caused Sacha's change of heart? The fact that Luka apologized (even though he didn't remember all of things he'd done - Luka was suffering from Alzheimer's by the time Sacha learned that he was an old man dying in the hospital of terminal cancer). Sacha, in spite of the past experiences with his brother, decided that since he was Luka's only surviving relative, he would visit him out of obligation. Obviously, Sacha isn't Luka's only blood relative (as Sacha has his son Alexander at this point, plus his grandchildren), but Sacha never gives Luka the information that he has a nephew because of Luka's memory loss and has the old man believing that Sacha is as young as he looks (which is thirty-seven, as that's the age when Sacha agrees to bind himself to Sergei as a vampire). By the same token, Sacha never does tell Alexander about Luka. Sacha will later come to regret this omission and will later be more open about his childhood with his daughter Kalina and his other son Akim in later years.

So I posted only three chapters this week. 69 is where Sergei and Sacha are once again at the Main Manor, while their son Alexander is still struggling with his feelings towards his parents in no small part due to the bullying he was forced to endure as a child because of his gay parents. There are other reasons as well for this move, of which won't be explained fully until later. The next several chapters are going to be about the antics of Pavel II, the last Mikhailachev to become a vampire for a couple of centuries up until the time of Dimitri Mikhailachev, as The Beginning isn't just about the Three Brothers, it's also about Pavel II and his mother Maria as well, since they are among the first of the Americanized Mikhailachev vampires.

And the Frat brother has been revealed to be none other than Castor Nova. ( Shown here in an "enhanced" form). He is currently slated as Pavel II's love interest in The Beginning. (In the Main Story, Pavel II is married to a bisexual woman named Krista.) For those of you who've read the latter parts of the Main Story, Pavel II's first spouse was mentioned as the first spouse to die tragically because of the breakage of the mating bond. Just an important piece of information to keep in mind for the next couple of chapters.

For the latest chapters in The Beginning there are...WEREWOLVES. Which means that I had way too much fun when I got Fun With Pets. I also recently got Apartment Life, and while I have no plans on including witches in the Mikhailachev Manor saga at this point and time (that will be in a future Sim story), it'll have some role in Infinity in that some of the characters will be living in apartments.
