I'm just opening a fresh thread for my newest Sim story, loosely based on one of my graphic novels titled The Reptilia. (Found here.) It's called Infinity and is the story of a powerful group of otherworldly entities that send forth their earthly servants to protect the life of a young woman who is in very real danger. Their most powerful servant comes in the form of a 27-year-old British psychic medium named Collin Smith (who can do a whole lot more than simply seeing dead people, btw). The entities in question have yet to show themselves in Infinity, but taking a gander at them in The Reptilia would provide a frame of reference. But FYI: Infinity refers to the forces in the universe that guides the mortal realm of existence: Creation, Preservation, and Destruction. These are the forces that Me-Non and his offspring control. One of Me-Non's other names (and he has a many names) is The Patriarch of Infinity (the reference used for my online nick). The beings make up a group called The Eternal Regime. They dwell in the Immortal Realm of Purgatory. They will show up in Infinity eventually, since they play a crucial role in the lives of the human characters. Their names are: Ke-Lah The Creator Mendor The Preserver Death Dia the Eternal Judge of the Hereafter (not an offspring of Me-Non) And of course, Me-Non The Patriarch of Infinity.

I'm going to announce right here that there's going to be two more chapters of Infinity posted tomorrow. The reason for this is because I want to get into introducing the rest of the human cast, while the next couple of chapters (8 and 9) will introduce the non-humans.
Typically, the updates for Infinity is one or two chapters, so this is considered a rare treat.

Chapter 9 in Infinity is a look at Collin's origins. It explains why he's so unusually powerful and remarkably calm in stressful situations. Chapter 8, of course, introduces the celestial masters of this story, or rather most of them (the notable absence here was Ke-Lah the Creator, who makes up for this by appearing in the flashback in the very next chapter). I had to use Photoshop to add the glowing effects for Me-Non, Mendor, and Dia, and used the game's version of The Grim Reaper by giving him the natural role of being Death. (Obviously. )

As you guys no doubt noticed by now, superhumans are not uncommon of a sight in the world of Infinity.
These are humans who possess abilities ordinary people don't have and it's genetic. In some, it's recessive, meaning they will never develop any sort of abilities. These are called "carriers".
In others where it does show up, there are different categories:
Psychics - these are the superhumans whose abilities come from the brain. They are telepaths, empaths, telekinetics, teleporters, ESP, and mediums. Example: Danny Welford, the newest character introduced in Infinity, has superior linguistic skills, which counts as a psychic ability. Other psychics in this series would be the telepath Mitch Thompson and the empath Sali Dahlia.
Physicals - these are the superhumans whose abilities are derived from the physical body. Examples would be superhumans who possessed superhuman strength, acrobatic capabilities, and heightened speed.
Elementals - these are superhumans whose abilities are derived from the elements of nature. Example: Eric Driver is an Air Elemental with the ability to manipulate air molecules. This enables him to turn toxic elements into clean air and deprive a fire of oxygen by pumping carbon dioxide by breathing with his lungs (hence why smoking could never kill him).
Energy - these are superhumans who can master energy like magnetic fields, electricity and in the case of Charlie Sidarth, master telecommunications networks.
Nuclear - these are superhumans whose powers can make things go boom. Often it doesn't cause radiation poisoning, so this can be a misnomer.
Healers - these are superhumans who heal themselves and others.
Molecular - these are the rarest of superhumans, who have the ability to manipulate molecular structure of everything around them. They are considered rare because often they are originally carriers whose original abilities remain dormant while new abilities spring forth after a physically traumatic event and are often known for having white hair.
Carriers - Dormant superhumans. They still have the average lifespan of a full-blown, even as they may never develop any kind of ability. Example: Julie Tanner is a dormant telepath.
