In the short time I've been Sim-blogging, picture hosting has become the bane of my existence. I love, love, LOVE, every single new reader who comes to my blog, but I find myself jumping through hoops to try to figure out how to support it all. I'm hosting pictures in my current entries on private web space now, and slowly working through my archives getting everything relinked. Photobucket free accounts have gone to crap, so that my archives don't last even a couple weeks of the month before I've exceeded bandwidth. Not surprisingly since Photobucket only allots 10 GB per month now for free, rather than 25 like it used to. I'm paying quite a bit more than I would buying a Photobucket Pro account, but then I also get to link to my full quality images (which I already save for web at 85% compression), no censorship, and I guess the peace of mind that Photobucket isn't going to change its rules yet again and crap all over my *thousands* of linked pictures. This rant is old news though, lol! I won't go there again. I don't know if I'm asking you all a specific question or anything, lol! Maybe I just want to whine a little more? But I know some of you have vastly more popular blogs than mine, and I'm wondering what you're doing for your picture hosting? I don't see many other people worried about this in the Sims community, so I wonder is there some secret everybody else knows that I'm just not getting?

Well, I can't say I fall into the popular blogs category at all so I can't help you there. But my stories are hosted at Wordpress.com mostly because of their 3GB of space which is more than plenty for me. I rarely use more than 12 pictures per post. I am not sure what the bandwidth over there is to be honest but I've never had any problems *touch wood*.
I used to use blogspot's picasa web album and they seem all right. I think you can upgrade by paying x amount and I've never really seen a blogspot blog using picasa pictures go offline. There was a popular TS2 story I read a while back that was hosted on blogspot (can't recall the name now - haven't looked at it in a long time) and they were using picasa. The blog had a lot of hits and they didn't appear to have problems with their images.
I heard about photobucket changing their limits. I only use it for stuff I post on forums so I've yet not had too much problems. I don't like using them because of all the damn ads that are on that site but what can you do?
There's also image shack which I hear is good as a free image host. I am not sure about their bandwidth but again, I've never really seen any image shack picture go offline yet but I could be wrong.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. I always tend to look for the free option as my husband is tight fisted with our money.

I do wonder how much bandwidth the wordpress accounts get, because I see a lot of people switching over to those.
I love the quote in your signature line! So true!

I love the sig too, Carnaxa. I went on a rant about that a while ago - I saw someone on another site say "I want to see that the author spent some time with Mr. Theasaurus." and I was like "Oh, now I know where all the awkward words that don't belong and don't mean what the author thinks they mean come from."
Anyway - I admit, I sold out. I have a paid Photobucket account.

I'm another sell out. I started paying for Photobucket recently. Why? I'm lazy and it's easier to pay than to spend time moving all my saved photos somewhere else.
That's how people get rich. Selling services to suckers like me.
However, one day I will get motivated and actually move my stuff to a better hosting-place. So, I'm interested in seeing what others are doing.

I've recently started to use photoshop.com...one because my adobe photoshop died, some way...I have Vista, it's a terrible thing. Any way, there you can edit and save pictures. I too must admit I have a free photobucket...it annoys me.
