I lifted the following quote about who should consider join the writing workshop group from the EveryDayFiction forum:
"Writing is a craft that can be mastered. Vision is what makes great writers. Well, throw in a bit of eccentricity, open mindedness, obsessive tendencies and an oblique perspective." - roswood
Now going through the checklist for myself...
1) Vision? Yah, I can see, though not perfectly. 2) A bit of eccentricity? Well, there is plenty in my bag. 3) Open mindedness? Hmmm... When I am not arguing with anybody, I am open minded. 4) Obsessive tendencies? checked 5) Oblique perspective? LOL, does upside-down count as oblique?

I simply took oblique perspective as meaning the tendency to dissect an issue from a slightly different, alas fresh, angle.
