I have this one paragraph that sums up a certain character and now I have to build an update around that. This is the most frustrating thing ever.

I am so freaking proud of myself. I have photos done for not one, not two but three updates. Boo yah! I want to get the next three done soon but the posing is setting me back a bit. A few picture previews I can share (they aren't edited of course): Dina being nosy You can see some weird things in Arthur's genes....

I'm having a lot of confidence issues lately. Nothing seems to sound right.

I'm having a lot of confidence issues lately. Nothing seems to sound right. It's not your confidence, it means you're growing! This happens to me (and pretty much all the writers I know) all the time. It happens when your writing improves by a leap, then you've just raised your own standards and suddenly you're not sure why your old tricks aren't cutting it anymore. But the writing is fine, and it's just as great as it always was, you just need to go easy on yourself while your writing catches up with your newly grown writers brain. Or that's just my theory, lol! In any case, I can't wait to read it!

Laura, can I say what a doll you are?
You really gave me that boost I needed to keep going, so here is an e-hug from me to you.

I obviously have soap opera tendencies. because none of my marriages are happy ones. Actually no one seems totally happy and that's sad.
Arthur and Marie Heredon = not happy John and Rachel Heredon = not happy Fabrice and Elise Lemieux = not happy Gabriela and Joaquin = happy Nina and Gregory Wright = happy
These people need to get it together although they do follow statistics...

Just a few rough patches. Anything can change in the space of a few months or a year....

My dad used to say that he'd been happily married to my mum for 20 years. That was when I was 26. When people looked at him, after realising I was older than that - he'd say... "What?! 20 years of happiness out of 28, that's great odds!" LMAO

Nah, not soap opera, that's just realistic, lol! If this were a soap opera, one of your marriages would have to include more random inappropriate paternities and/or waking up out of longterm comas You have me inspired to work out my hood's stats. I think I tend to have more unmarried relationships in trouble than married ones at this point, but I think all of the marriages in my hood have faced trouble at one point or another, which is realistic. Though out of 30-something couples, I've only had three divorces, which is highly unrealistic for RL terms. But I figure people wouldn't want to read my stories if I broke up a realistic 40% of my couples, lol! Kiri, LOL @ your dad! He has a point!

Yeah, I agree with Laura - not soap opera. The problems your couples are facing are big ones but they're not anything couples in real life don't face every day. Unlike the comas and paternity tests (although I guess some people go through that as well!)
I've only had two divorces in Sullivan and they were both quite a while ago! Not realistic at all, lol.

Hahahah, you guys are great. I AM missing the comas, paternity tests, endless custody battles, poisoning, etc.
They are going through rough patches but I feel bad for them. I know they're only Sims and are now residing in pause in my dead laptop but I still bad for the characters they represent. Happy times are coming though. It would suck to follow the true percentage, everyone would be divorced.
Kiri you're Dad has a point. 20 years is still a long time!

A few of you already know my computer gave up the ghost and I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to get a new one. In the meantime, I've been entertaining myself by working on some background stuff for HC like revamping the educational system and the financial system to name a few. Today I decided to look through my external hardrive in my Sims folder and I found a few gems hidden away and wanted to share. This was an old hood I started but eventually abandoned to create HC. Since I have all the date saved from the hood I'm hoping to make it HC's downtown subhood and it can act like one of the mainland town I always refrence. Eventually I will add one of the universities to the hood so that it will be a real city college.

Oooh, jealous! I have often wished I had some of my old hoods. I don't have any fully formed awesomeness like that, but I had some nice lots.
Hope you can figure out the subhood thing, because that looks too nice to go to waste.

Guess what? I have things to babble about again.
I need to get to the writing part of this whole project. I have pictures for the next 5 updates because I've been enjoying playing the game so much. I actually want to finish out the Sim year and then just spend time writing as the days pass. Plus, it will be super easy to do since I only have to play one household and do a school update.
I'm planning an update for Friday. It's going to be the long talked about Caliente update.

I'm excited to see the Caliente sisters' story updated. I'm especially curious to see the reaction that comes from Nina and what's going to happen with her family.

I'm working on that now choco. I'm trying to figure out how much is going to be revealed or hinted at. I'm also need to figure out what Dina wants. I know what she says she wants but I'm still floundering about what she leaves unsaid. That last paragraph of Part 1 really surprised me even though it make sense.
