I haven't been around lately. I've been playing WoW in a desperate attempt to not spend all my time sobbing. So at work, where I can't play WoW and all my CDs are imbued with Valley and I have lots of time to think, time that used to be filled with Valley - yeah, I cry a lot. I'll get through it and will write again and find a new story to love. It's just going to take some time. I hope you guys stick around and hang out with each other until then.

I've heard many novelists talk about this post-project slump. And I remember feeling the same way after I finished my degree. It's hard to pour all of yourself into something so big, and then have it finally end and not know what comes next.
Just know that something will come next. The well is never dry.
*Hugs!*

Would it help to do a mini-project for fun? Something like one of the story prompt challenges or a SOTM or something that could just be for kicks?
Hang in there, a new love will come in time, but maybe this is the moment to "play the field"?

I suggest read a book, that sometimes will give me a kick out of the blues, and give me ideas for something new!

I'm so sorry you're feeling down. In a way, though, Valley isn't gone. It's just grown up and moved out on its own. You can still go visit it by doing projects with the characters. Birthing and raising Valley was a big job, and it's understandable if you need some time to rest and regroup.
Hugs for you!

I'm sorry too. No working on the post apocalyptic zombie story with the crew?
I like the above suggestions. When you're ready, you should come back and do some prompts, start in slowly.

Aww....I hope things get better for you. I'm sure it is really hard to let go of your characters, but like everyone else here is saying--you can still visit them. There's still so much we don't know about them. And if that isn't possible for you, then once you are through a little more of the grieving, you may be able to open yourself up for another story to take root in your head and grow. I can't wait to see you excited again--I know it will happen.
