So yeah. I'm posting this from work.
Just read an article that said Duke hopes to have the power back on in an hour and a half or so, but then last night they said 7 and then 9:30 and then 5 a.m., so yeah. And according to the article our part of town got the worst of the hardcore storm yesterday. Our power went out for a few minutes during the storm and then came back. And then it went out again like an hour and a half after the storm and hasn't come back yet.
We took another walk last night. And got to meet a few neighbors out doing the same thing.
Then we got out our gas lamp and sat around the dining table and I read some Poe stories by flashlight.
At least we have gas heat and a window in the bathroom, so I got to take a fairly normal shower this morning. At our first apartment our power was out for a week after an ice storm and I took freezing cold showers in the dark, yay!
So there are PMs and replies to forum posts that I want to answer and of course I want to work on 10.03, but who knows when we'll have electricity again. I can pull out a notebook and a pen during daylight hours I suppose, but we'll probably be going out to eat and hanging out in places with A/C.
Anyone got any tips about how to keep the cats comfortable if the power doesn't come back on soon? It's kind of really hot and humid at the moment.
I brought my charger to work and am charging up the Blackberry, so I do still have mobile internet access and can check here for comments if you do have any advice about the cats. It was much easier to rig something up to keep them warm after the ice storm.
Ahahahaha! Yeah - just saw another article with 10 a.m. crossed out and 4 p.m. instead. Sigh.
