Well, it's been a strange week.
My husband has been battling what we thought was a lingering case of pneumonia, but thanks to his doctor recommending an echocardiogram (sp?) to check things out, we found out that he actually had a faulty heart valve that needed to be replaced! He had emergency heart surgery last Thursday. It's a very long and involved story, but the short of it is that he is doing well, but he's still in the hospital. Needless to say, writing is not something I can concentrate on too much right now. I just thought I'd let everyone know so that my absence and silence would be explained.

So sorry to hear about this, but I'm really glad he's doing well. Thinking of you both, take all the time out you need, but do let us know how you're both getting on. Big hugs to you xx

Just now saw this – so sorry you're having to go through this scary time, but hurray for doctors who keep looking for the source of the problem and don't just assume it's something common!
Take care of you and take care of your hubby, and know that we'll be glad to see you when all is well with your world again.

Hi all! Thanks for the well-wishes and concern. I'm doing pretty well. My husband's recovery is going very well, and right now it's just a matter of getting used to his new schedule of medicine and doctor's appointments, etc.. It really helps that his parents are here right now to help us get our house ready to sell. They were on their way the day he was admitted to the hospital. If something like this had to happen, in many ways it was the best time for it to occur.
But anyway, things are getting more and more normal every day. Most of my time is taken up with helping Michael do things and keep up with his meds and helping pack and get the house ready. I don't know when I'll be able to play or write at this point, but I think once the house is presentable things will really quiet down. I haven't been reading Sim blogs, though I have been checking this forum just to see what's going on. I can't wait to get caught up--I know there's so much wonderful stuff just waiting for me!

I'm glad to hear your husband is okay too, and that things are getting back to normal. It sounds very stressful. I hope things settle down soon, and hope that you can take time out to take care of yourself too!

Hi Rahel, it's good to hear that your husband is doing better and recovering well, and good to hear that you have his parents there to help you out. Will they be staying with you for a while? It'll be great to have you back again but so far you just take the time it takes to help your husband get up and running again, so to speak. *hug*

Oh my gosh. I'm glad he's doing okay. D: Haha, don't worry about us. We'll still be here when you get back. Your family is much more important at the moment. I'm rooting for you both.
