Okay, so - John used to work at the library. *deletes ranting about taxes and the proper uses for them* With the budget cuts this year he got laid off. In April.
I hadn't seen any sign that he was applying for jobs, and at first I just let him be because after all, he let me quit Arby's and didn't bug me too much for the nine months it took me to find another job.
Still though, as time went on, I was getting a little itchy. I was actually thinking of posting a thread here asking for advice on how to talk to him about it, because I'm not good at communication and need all the help I can get, lol.
But then today when I got home from work, he informed me that he has an interview on Sunday. OMG, such a relief. Even if he doesn't get the job, at least now I know he is putting forth effort and applying and stuff.
I don't see a reason why he shouldn't get it, though. There are three positions open at the local Apple store. The dude is a raging Apple fanboy - when I'm writing he's over on his iMac reading Apple blogs. Or playing games on his iPhone. I have been lectured on the finer points of the Apple company and its products many many times over the last 11 years.
Of course he's been all talkative and excited all day, and I really have been trying to be a good listener and pay attention because I definitely want to be encouraging. Haven't gotten any writing done though, and now it's time for bed and tomorrow we're going to the mountains with my mother.
So yeah - I guess I'm just all happy and relieved and I wanted to share that, because I like to share happy things with people I like. And also explain why it might be a while before Farmer Brown is done and why I haven't been around much lately and won't be still for a while.
