CSOM: Shell shocked My brother has a baby due on May 29th. I only found out today. By accident. I found baby bts on his bed when I was looking for somehting in his room and when he called today I asked about it. Nobody was going to tell me otherwise. Parents knew for ages, but they were all trying to persuade her to murder the poor little baby. I'm going to be an aunt. My brother is a year and half younger than me. I don't want to be an aunt before I'm a mum myself. He's 21 in uni. Men. I'm allowed to be angry right? I'm the one who wanted children out of the two of us. I'm the older one. I'm the one who's clock started ticking at her when she turned 12 and started her period. And he;s not married to the girl obviously. What if she doesn't want to get the baby christened? I know my brother despite being anti-religion wanted a chrisitening. What if I never see the baby? I don't think she lives locally she's a girl he slept with at uni. Hold on now middle of August conception he wouldn't have been at uni. Oh she's local unless she's at uni herself. Well that's something. I bet ll the aunts/uncles know and I of course like normal will be the last to know.
I can't be an aunt. I just can't. At least she didn't kill the baby.
I'll be fine in a week or two. Just have to adjust, took me a while after my best friend whos 4 months younger got engaged.

Ok I am all calm and focused. I see clearly now. It's not about me. It's about the cute little baby to which I will be aunt. Regardless of how involved my brother or parents wish to be, I will be involved, and if she will not let me see my niece then, then I will go through a nice ugly legal battle to get access, because aunts have rights too. I mean it's all been hitting the enws recently about the grandparents of the non custodial parent. And if all else fail there os the wonderful thing called the Jermey Kyle which could help. Because I have this horrible feeling that I wasn't told about this because all mum and dad want is to pay the child support and not have anything else to do with it all. And my brother will just go along with anything to keep the peace and won't go against the grain as it were.
Children need to see al their family unless any unsavoury elements are at work such as abuse whether subsance or more physicalI will make sure that my brother see that baby. The child is what matters not whether he or my parents are bothered about being involved. The baby needs a father, I will make sure he is the father that baby needs.

I hope everything works out for your brother and the mother and your family! That's a lot for a young man and woman to deal with, especially if they're in school. They'll certainly need all the support they can get. Luckily they'll have you. As for my CSOM: I'm tired - blah. I wish the week were over already. lol I'm sure once I get some sleep I'll be fine. I'm kinda brain dead to be honest. for everyone who needs one.

Stacey you are not driving people away. There's a new person in the welcome thread right now. Besides if people are going to be put off because of you we don't want them here anyway. We only accept likers of Stacey. Because Stacey rocks!

I think a lot of people have RL stuff going on right now but I just took it personally because I like to beat up on myself like that sometimes.

Doesn't life get complicated.
Bro and bm have been friends since secondary school. She's been dating his best friend until 9 months before the accident. Apparently bro and bm are now dating despite the fact that he is at uni 6hrs drive away, and neither of them drive. Plus she works full time. As a plus she doesn't want child support (parents are thrilled) and her mum doesn't work so no child care costs. Apparently dad isn't very happy. Mum isn't overly thrilled but still. If bro and bm break up then there will be bother.

Here's hoping it all works out for you Pinkfiend. I hope you get to be a very cool aunty CSOM: busy, focussed on doing still. worried about sister - I think spending time with mum is very tiring for her, and she's not coping well. Trying to work out how to juggle all the balls in the air, and hoping I don't drop any.

Alive. Hopeful. Excited. Focused. Doing what little I can to help - I like to think I contributed a tiny bit with my linking of the sign showing support for Wisconsin in Egypt on a video of the Wisconsin protests and then linking that video, plus a pic of a sign in Wisconsin that said "Walk like an Egyptian", back on a blog written by the Egyptian who made the sign. Also signed an online petition to encourage the UN to help Libya - sure, it may not actually do anything, but it shows the Libyans who know about it that we're supporting them. And they do know about it - it's Libyans and Egyptians who are getting the petition link out on Twitter. Libya PetitionHere's the video if you want to see what it looks like when Americans stand up for themselves. Wisconsin ProtestLooks a lot like the videos from Egypt. People dancing, making music, being happy. Because that's what people over profits looks like. That's empathy, not psychopathy. Working together, not competing to death. May empathy and love sweep the world and save it from the psychopaths of profit. So...my CSOM is the best it's been in a decade. OMG - quote from the creator of the Wisconsin video: They learned from Tunisia and Egypt, and they are teaching the rest of us. Never give in. Never give up. No tyrant lasts forever. Gandhi and King must be pretty proud of us all, wherever they are. One more thing I've noticed - there's parody Twitter accounts of both Mubarak and Governor Walker, and they're quite similar. And hilarious. Governor Walker's SUV even has a Twitter account. Scott Walker's SUV

I just had my mind blown. After some mentions of Anonymous in tweets about Libya and some links to Anonymous sites in a thread at DU about the Westboro Church attempt to get attention by faking an Anonymous attack on them, I started doing some research. A month ago, the Tunisian government blocked the WikiLeaks site. And Anonymous started Operation Tunisia. Guys. 4Chan is saving the world. Anonymous and the Global CorrectionSo... CSOM: Totally and completely blown to bits and pieces. In a freaking good way.
