Don't worry Laura. I only try to seem calm and collected in public. IRL I end up rolling around a lot, whining, eating chocolate, and crying that I'm not a real writer, lol. But I can't really do anything else other than write, so then I end up going back. What a vicious cycle. See why I need the chocolate always on hand?

Beth, thanks! You're right, there's another part of it. I suppose especially in the community of Sims stories, where probably 90% of them are perky-happy-kittens-and-rainbows kinds of stories, it could be quite easy to take a random turn and end up on my blog where everything's all tears and angst, lol! It's certainly not everybody's cup of tea. But then, you know, I never promised kittens and rainbows either. Lunar, lol! You act the part well! OMG, it is too vicious a cycle! Chocolate and glasses of wine are necessary, lol!

Amelia Bradshaw: 1. name: Amelia 2. grew up: in the perfect loving suburban home 3. favorite food: eggs florentine 4. favorite color: green and gold 5. favorite weather: crunchy fall leaves 6. favorite drink: pinot noir 7. currently reading: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert 8. most important job: financial planner 9. if she had one wish: that they all come home safe 10. thing she loves most in the world: cuddles on the couch with Drew 11. one word to describe her: cautious 12. something else: she sees the world through fractures notes: #1, I searched for her name meaning "strive" and this came up, titled "fragile" which is also very fitting of her. #2, a little bit symbolic for this one. If you can't tell, it's actually a dollhouse. I'll let you all take stabs at the hidden meaning in that I should have the rest of her profile up on the blog in a little bit, and Drew's mosaic and profile will be next

That is Amelia right down to the dollhouse. Put them where they should be and make them stay there all safe and happy and not worrying you. From her choice of book (happy revelations) to her choice of drink (good old Pinot) to the very last image. That's the only one that kind of threw me. and I know it doesn't matter, but your choice of colors and imagery nails it. Completely beautiful!

The dollhouse is perfect, where she can make everything just as she wants it to be. I wasn't sure it was a dollhouse until you said but I did think "these people have chosen a very bright colour for their roof!"
Another great one here!

The one I had in mind when I was making this was like Illandrya said, her "perfect" childhood wasn't real, or was pretend Beth and Carla, oooh, those are some awesome interpretations of the dollhouse! Love it! Both very true as well! Amazing how many true and valid interpretations we can find of the same image! Thanks guys! These are a ton of fun! Oh, and Beth, I am very picky about making sure my colors go together, so I'm glad you notice that, lol!

Gorgeous mosaic, and so fitting for Amelia. The dollhouse is an inspired way to discuss the way she grew up. I can't look at a dollhouse without thinking of Ibsen's "A Doll's House", which is kinda sad.
My heartstrings were tugged quite a bit by her #9.

Rachel and Rad, thank you! And next... Drew Bruty:1. name: Drew 2. grew up: as the odd one out 3. favorite food: raspberry chocolate torte 4. favorite color: all shades of blue 5. favorite weather: the first snow flurries 6. favorite drink: water to swallow some headache pills for his hangover 7. currently reading: The New Yorker 8. most important job: poet 9. if he had one wish: to have a family of his own 10. thing he loves most in the world: freckles on a redhead 11. one word to describe him: charming 12. something else: everything's just fine (even when it's not) notes: #1: couldn't find one associated with his name or its meaning, but then I found this guy, perfectly content, not bothered a bit by the rain as he reads, and it made me think of Drew. So be it. #12: was a crapshoot, lol! I could hardly put this into words much less find a picture to represent it, lol! I mean really, how do you find a picture of that? So this picture felt optimistic, yet muddy and vague at the same time. Good a picture as any! I am still picking at Amelia and Drew's full profiles as well. I'll get them up on the blog soon (= eventually)

Love love love Drew's weather picture (#5). It's spooky but kinda cozy at the same time.
You found amazing pictures to describe him. His one wish is so sweet, and really puts so much of his character and actions in perspective. Freckles on a redhead--perfect answer!
His number 12 is very interesting, and definitely seems to be borne out by his behavior when he and Amelia were having issues. He just wanted it to be fine, and he was telling himself it was fine the whole time...but he kept worrying.

Rachel, that snow picture is a little spooky, I love it, lol! I've seen his #12 in him for a long time, and it gets him into trouble - with Amelia, with Jodie, with his drinking, with his family issues. Though I have to say I identify with him on that, unfortunately, because I do that sometimes myself, just pretend the problems aren't there to see if they'll go away, lol! (They don't usually, do they?) Lepifera, LOL! That's great! Rad, aren't those eggs amazing!? I was so happy to find that picture. I couldn't have found one more fitting of that idea. Illandrya, thanks! I'm glad it suits him!

So I'm sitting in my car, kid in the back, rocking out at a stop light to some classic rock after dropping hubby off at the train station. It's Bob Seger, "Night Moves," and of all people, I hear Tyler, and he's nodding to the beat, and he says, "I like this shit." Tyler? Really? I don't know what kind of music I imagined he did like, but I never saw this coming. But he insists. He says, "Hell yeah, dude's got fucking soul!" And I'm like, okay, fair enough. The dude does have fucking soul. (And Kiri, I need a "rocking out" smiley!!! I'm so demanding, lol! *adds, pretty, pretty please!* )

LOL! Actually, it makes total sense to me that Tyler would like some classic rock. He just seems like one of those guys who would even if he wasn't around for it.

I'm like, totally not a writer anymore. I've been trying to write this update all weekend. And Monday. And tomorrow will be Tuesday. Nothing. Last week, I couldn't finish my novel chapter either. Even my board posts are stupid. There's like, no words in my brain. Where did they go? I can't even finish Drew's stinking profile!

I haven't caught up yet, but I just thought I'd post and say I know exactly what you mean. I've been neglecting both my novels like crazy. I'll open the Word documents and try to think of what to say next and... nothing. I feel like a neglectful parent

Don't feel bad Laura. I'm there too. I have a post written up in draft and I want to finish it but the motivation just won't let me. I feel like I can't. Whatever energy I do have for writing is being re-directed to my personal statement essay. I think once's that's out of the way writing will come. Maybe you have something on your biscuit that needs to be taken care of right now? It's a thought.
