*seconds that* The forum is just about writing really. Doesn't matter what game you're playing.

Hi SB! I've read your comments on some of the blogs I follow and think you are awesome! Looking forward to reading your stories, but it will take a while... I'm hopelessly behind. In the meantime a big welcome from me too!

well thanks Moondaisy! Maybe I'm just good at comments LOL!
Our work is pretty long. Passages isn't so bad, just 10 short chapters and a prologue, but Sessions takes some time to get through. Even if you don't get to it, I appreciate the interest and the welcome!

Welcome, sb, yay, another Sims 2 writer!!
I tried Sims 3 for the last three months but although the graphics were nice it didn't have the depth of my established neighborhoods, and it didn't feel like the sims really had substance. I probably just didn't give it enough time, but I missd my sims 2 Sims.

Hi simdalevalley!
Yeah, another sims2 writer! The cityscapes I use are almost like characters, and I don't want to give them up. Sims 3 just doesn't work for me.
And I'd love to take a look at your work!

I've been reading through your stuff slowly - whenever I've had a huge whack of time I've sat down and gone through a whole bunch of posts. Am just at the end of progression four now, and I am totally hooked. Although I liked the early stuff, something just clicked around the second half of progression three and now it is simply flying. In the earlier posts when you started working together, you could tell it was the coming together of two voices, but by the stage I'm at, the various stories you each tell flow seamlessly. I'm so looking forward to the rest.
EDIT: Scratch that, I was too hooked so I stayed up late and read the whole thing. I am so engrossed in this world now, and all of these characters. It's fabulous stuff.
A couple of questions: 1) Are Beth and Gayl named after you guys? (Or are your online names chosen because of those characters?) 2) Are you working with an end in mind or is it very open-ended?

Rad, I saw the comment this morning on the last update and I was just thrilled to death! Thank you so much!! I’m absolutely delighted you’re hooked!
It took us a while to get our stride working together. We had to get rid of some characters and wrap up some of the original storylines. Once we decided to focus on one main story and write that jointly, it went more smoothly. The early chapters were far too long. I made a lot of technical mistakes (I’m still learning to write). It’s been a learning experience for both of us.
The names: They are our real names. We decided we were going to have fun with this when we began writing together. However, the Beth character was supposed to be a walk-on sort of joke (one of the early main characters is named after my husband; he’s not in the story anymore). The storyline grew and developed around her and it was too late to change the name. One of those things that if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t, but it’s definitely too late. Do we have an end in mind? Not really. We wrap up storylines. We’ve put up and taken down several blogs when it felt like we’d reached the end of something major. But we enjoy the world, love the characters, and have no plans to start from scratch except with side stories. You absolutely made my day. I’ve been struggling with both the writing and the shots, and with difficult game problems, so it is wonderful, just wonderful to hear from you.
