Beware... apparently all sims3pack stuff you didn't buy directly isn't working (and some things people got directly from EA are also having issues - there are reports of Riverview going AWOL). My sims3pack CC has vanished from game (though launcher still pretends it's installed) though I haven't checked on Riverview yet.
Might be worth holding off the patch just yet.

Eek! After what happened with the last one and what I've seen about this one so far, I think I'm going to hold off for now. Thanks for the warning!

J.M. Pescado and another member at MATY have figured out a way to get some of the sim3packs to show up. I have no clue what some of the things they discussed were, but if you want to investigate I'll provide the links. www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17592.0.html And here is the other members theory...thing... www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17454.0.html If you all find something out let me know, because I'm sitting here shivering because I don't know if I should patch my game and if I don't I'm going to have to reframe my Sims...which losing them would suck. (There goes my stories...let's hope not) Stouffer's Mac and Cheese.

I've seen a lot of people who said that they removed the hacked dll file and the resource file, and the mods folder, updated, and then put everything back and they had no issues with their Sims3 pack.
Gah. I'm too lazy to risk it, but I want to give it a try because I SO want to play with the World Builder. Requires a lot of backing up though. I certainly cannot risk losing my sims either. Waaay too much work.

I've never patched my game. When I bought it, it was already 1.4.6 soooo...I didn't have to worry about it. Well...every time a new patch comes out everyone keeps updating to it. So, I decided "well we may have to join the crowd." I've been a chicken so far, but there's a mod I desperately need for The Gang's next chapter. I was ok with 1.7 it seemed to be going good for everyone then as soon as I go to update WALA there's another new patch. I'm not stupid so I went to check it out on MATY. To see if Pes gave it the OK...but no. I come to find that this situation is just becoming taxing. If they keep doing this crap, a lot people are not going to continue to get any upcoming EPs. Lollypops and tootsie rolls.

Hmmm. So I can't use inventories right now, making the thing pretty much unplayable. Grr.

Does it reset your Visa levels after the patch? I did find it did that to mine. I had achieve Visa Level 1 for both Egypt and China and the next time I had logged in, I was back to Visa Level 0. I am not sure if it's the patch or not though; hard to tell. I never noticed it before.

Oh, I haven't checked. Hmmm. Will be playing later so will check that one out. The inventory issue seems to be intermittent, thankfully.

If you go on vacations your skills and other levels will go down. I've been getting that message...and I don't even have WA! Homemade fudge and roast beef

My skills and visa levels are all fine still, and we just went on a trip. Maybe that's a glitch that affects some people and not others?
The inventory thing is apparently an intermittent rather than permanent problem and I've put my CC back so I can now play as normal... for the time being...

Thanks for checking Rad. It must be one of those weird glitches. And ... after the latest patch, I've started to get that Error Code 16 error. I thought that was for the patch prior to the most recent one. Man, this game is driving me completely insane.

I think I'm the only one this patch helped. My game will reliably open now, and my sims can fish, and I can change the active household, and the inventories are behaving, and I can install custom content. So if you play on Mac OS 10.5.8 and have WA and have oodles of problems, it might be worth trying the patch.
Are things getting better for those with horrific game probs? Are there any new fixes? I feel bad for being all happy, but believe me, I know the anger and gloom of doomsday patches. I hope something gets worked out soon!

My game is still a bit glitchy but it's playable most of the time. Oddest glitch lats night: the Lazarus shelter, which was built on an empty lot, keeps displaying as a pretty house (in fact very like the house next door) while the game catches up with itself. That's never happened before. The Dayes had another odd glitch but that will be revealed in the next update.

Wow, maybe the Lazari put up a big mirror so their house would reflect the one next door? ;-)
Glad it's playable. Curious about the Dayes glitch…

Has anyone patched their game with the new 1.9/2.4 patch? How is it working out for you?

Taken from the Sims 3 forums (I haven't patched yet.):
Are you experiencing glitches or issues with the 1.9/2.4 patch or the High-End Stuff Pack? Post it here and please keep it relevant to the topic. Please don't go off-topic. Just list the issue/glitch you are experiencing and try to describe it as best as you can. :] It could possibly help EA greatly with the new patch that could possibly fix the glitches/issues we are experiencing. Take your time and please be patient. I will update a list of the glitches/issues here, so if you have any, post them here.
Issues/Glitches Found:
-Sound Disappears
Description: (Either in CAS or the entire game throughout) It's random and sound is lost most of the time period. Always is forced to restart game to regain the sound back.
Cause: New patch or High-End Stuff might have caused the sound to vanish.
-Can't Update Past 3.0.38.004001 Patch -When In Edit-Town Mode, can't save lot and can't return back to Edit-Town Menu. Stuck on Lot. -Can't Install Anything : Store CC or 3rd Party CC -Having Issue starting game up -Launcher Not Working -Can't Install Patch -No Visible Fish In Aquarium -Game incompatibility issues -Error Message During Gameplay -Error during the installation of Patch -No description(s) of/on insects -No description for Aquarium; Can't place it on lot -Error during the Installation of High-End Stuff -Crash to desktop
EDIT: Official changes. I don't think its worth patching unless you bought the EP.
# World Adventures - Users can now capture the Town Theatre subject in photography # A change was made so that desks do not burn anymore. # Mac only: Fixed an error with uploading screenshots from the Mac when the “.jpg” file extension is deleted. # PC only: Fixed a bug where the launcher would display an error message that it could not connect to EADM on Vista and Windows 7 machines

Hmmm. I bought the new stuff pack so I'm guessing I will have to patch if I want to install it... (well, if I ever get my computer back, sob). Rock. Hard place.

My game hasn't told me to update yet...so that probably means it did it by itself without telling me. Evidently, it had done that by itself before. Or, it's just lazy. sausage and biscuits
