Another huge storm for us on the east coast. I just got done working at noon. My boss picked me up this morning and dropped me off cause anything more than 6 inches is too much for my little car to handle. Now that I'm done working, they decided to close the roads to all non-essential people. Why not this morning!
Although its still snowing (not nearly as hard), I'm curious to how much snow everyone got. I'm at about 21 inches so far up in Lancaster, PA, more with drifts but the gusts aren't bad. I'm proud of the snow crews on the highways. You can see pavement on the main roads and can drive 40-45 mph with no problem. Secondary roads are relatively safe and clear of drifts too. Yay! If only everything wasn't closed.

They're calling it Snowmageddon around here, lol! (VA, just out side of DC) I even found a website somebody made, lol! It's about to come up over my window sill in a minute. It's more than we got back in December, and that was about 18 inches, so I'd say probably about 24 inches or so? I'm originally from Michigan, so snow is no big deal for me, but this is a bit much for even Michigan. I'm about to take the kid out in it to play

lol @ Snowmageddon! And lol again that on that link the bars staying open are listed above emergency routes!
Last week we had a couple of inches of snow and an inch or so of ice here in Georgia, but this week just rain, rain, rain. We have flooded rivers, so you might could go white water rafting, but not sledding. ;-)

We had so much snow in December and Jan - temps went down to -20 C which is incredibly rare over here. Lots of snow earlier this week too but it's gone now. - January's aerial map.

No snow down here in the Florida panhandle....but a bit of rain. I love to play in snow....but I hate driving in it! Here's hoping that all of you will be kept safe and warm!

Florida panhandle? :O Where do you live, raquelaroden? My hometown (Tallahassee) is located in the vicinity. I'm homesick after dealing with all of this snow.

Yeah, they said a foot plus for my area. I don't know where they're going to put all this extra snow. The snow is piled 5-6 feet high around my apartment complex after finally clearing all the parking spots. I took this photo yesterday in my friend's backyard. i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad224/surprise92/chapter1/febsnow1.jpgThis is what the intersections look like 2 days after the snow. This one is at a red light mid-way up a hill. You should of seen it the day of. So many accidents cause people either were going to fast and not able to stop at the light going downhill or going too slow and getting stuck in the snow and not able to make it up the hill. i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad224/surprise92/chapter1/febsnow2.jpg

I'm always so impressed at countries that clear the snow like that. Here it just hangs around for weeks and we all keep falling over on it!

I was watching the weather channel a few weeks ago and they read an email from this lady in Florida. She's wrote: How do you get ice off your windshield? No one owns a scrapper around here.
