Hi all. I have just discovered this forum...not sure why I didn't find it earlier. I'm going to blame my work since I blame it for my lack of attention to pretty much everything.
I write the Kendrick Legacy, which isn't really a story per se or even really that great of a Legacy (no, I'm not fishing for compliments...I think it's only average). I also write a fun variation of a legacy called the Succubus Legacy.
I'm nearly finished with the Kendricks and I've promised myself that I will do a better job with whatever I do next. I am a pretty good writer, though I have to work on dialog, pacing, and characterization (yeah, that seems like everything...hmmm).
What draws me to this forum is the emphasis on writing as a process as well as writing using the Sims as a medium. TS3 is the first Sims game that I have ever written for. It has opened up a whole new experience for me. I feel sort of invigorated by it even if my first attempt is only mediocre.
For the first time in over 10 years, I am writing again. I will always thank the Sims for that.

Welcome to the forums! ;D Yeah, I took a break from writing too, so I can completely understand.
Don't be afraid to add in new thoughts on old topics in the forums.

Hey Heather! Great to see you here, and the Kendricks are a great legacy - look at how popular they are. It might not be what you want to be writing long term but the fact that you;ve stuck with it and kept it interesting is no mean feat!
(Slideshow somewhat puts me off the Succubi, I'm afraid)

Yay, I'm glad you're on this site. I adore both your stories (the Kendricks and the Succubus).

Hello and welcome! I plan on reading your Kendricks legacy tonight while on the desk at work, not that I do that kind of thing at work or anything. I work hard! I promise....=)

(Slideshow somewhat puts me off the Succubi, I'm afraid) I can understand that. I chose the format as I wanted to be observational and I liked the idea of the TS3 exchange (except that it is a major hassle!). Actually, using the slide show is much easier to work with, but the picture quality and/or text quality leaves something to be desired. Hi hrootbeer, and welcome! Thanks Laura, and everyone else! 10 years is the exact age of my oldest child. But honestly, I was writing less and less even before her birth once I started teaching. I remember my writing profs saying that it would happen and I just scoffed. They were right. Teaching, to a certain degree, sucks the creative life out of you! That's not to say I don't love my job. I do. But, I have little energy for a thoughtful book to read let alone write.

Welcome! Why weren't you here before? :-)
I've really enjoyed the Kendricks! They've had some horrifying, hilarious, and heartwarming moments – not all at the same time, I should say.

Yay I'm glad you joined! *hugs*
I like your legacies. They really are good, you know.
And omg yes, the Sims game is a wonderful medium for stories. And I'm happy that it got you to start writing again.

Welcome, Heather! I love your legacy--I haven't had as much time to read it lately, though. I'm glad to see you here!

Welcome, Heather! Lovely you started writing again after 10 years! And you nearly finished a legacy too? Wow! I love legacies and if Stacy says yours is really good, I'll definitely be around one of these days to check it out!

Ello and welcome! I used PowerPoint to make my Christine Jones story. I loved it! But unfortunately it seems the readers didn't... [one shall drop by and read your stories]
