Okay, so I just really wanted to advertise the pic spam from today that's on LJ - I know some of you guys aren't on LJ and wouldn't see it on your friends list, so.... Seth needs lifetime happiness points and also maybe some skills, so I played him some today. I played him in the Nightmare save file, because obviously the lot has to be properly weedy when Lilith goes to meet him. Bella is on the lot from the scene where she goes to the house and sees that he's still alive, and of course Lilith and Sarah and Emma are all there from Nightmare. I made two little stories out of the pics. Seth autonomously scaring LilithThere were a lot of firesSo yeah - feel free to post any random pics you've got.

lol! So much fun. I had no idea Seth was so cute. No wonder you like him better than Jason!

Ha ha! Great mini-pic! It definately shows a side of Seth that you wouldn't expect him to have. I love Lilith's face when she's looking up at the shower. Priceless.
Silly, good times!

Hahahahaha somehow I missed that before. I now repeat my suggestion that you consider a comedy project in the future.

Awww, thanks guys. I quite like them and have been staring at the pics of Seth in his formal suit instead of working on Valley today. Yeah, Seth is adorable. Playing him really helped me get over Jason and back into the Seth fangirl mood. How can I resist his wants to see various people die in a fire and his free will decisions to go and scare Lilith? I played him for a bit before starting Valley and liked him so much that he was almost the main character. My husband did suggest a Valley prequel that was just 40 years of Seth being awesome. Maybe I could do like an Adventures of Seth comedy commentary thing - not a legacy as such because I don't want him to turn elder and die. He's too cute for that. And yeah, Lilith did make some good faces there. She totally was like, "Dude, what are you doing?" I did wonder why you didn't comment on that one as well, Catherine. And most of my Sims 2 stuff was comedy and maybe I will give it a try again with Sims 3 later. Also, I like how the fireperson's profile behind Seth in that one shot looks like it could be a propaganda poster.

Those are great pictures Stacy. They come out pretty clear and crisp, you must have one really really good computer.

Those are great pictures Stacy. They come out pretty clear and crisp, you must have one really really good computer. I did do a screen layer and unsharp mask on them, which helped quite a bit. Yeah, still staring at the Seth in his suit pics. Sigh. I do believe I am more than a little bit in love with a collection of pixels. Oh well - I'll be able to method write Sarah. My computer's stats: AMD Phenom 9600 quad-core processor, 2.3 GHz GeForce 8800 GT 3 gigs of RAM

My stats are:
Intel Core Duo 2 processor, 2.8 GHz GeForce GTS 250 3 gigs of RAM
(When I went to Best Buy to buy this computer, I just let them pick it out. All I knew at the time was that TS2/TS3 killed my old computer and I needed a new one to play TS3 and my other games! What's funny, though, my graphics card is listed on the box, but the game comes up as saying it's unsupported!)

Woah, they sound like good computers. Way better than the crap I have. I got an upgrade recently but it still lags a little. I have random pics or rather, photoshoots. I like playing with animation possibilities. Somedays, I just feel like taking photos. Lily in the Water, Dead Trees, Red Is and Darkness - here at my photostream

Whoa! Those are amazing!
I love Darkness 4 and Lily 3 the best! But I think I like Lily 3 the most. It has a very Lady of Shalott/Ophelia feel to it. That's what I thought of the second I saw it!
I should experiment with lighting, I think. Which light did you use for the soft green effect? Did you just change the color? I never think to do that, but I really should. It might add so much more RT.

Those are beautiful, Carnaxa! Wow. Sims 3 is actually turning into a very awesome story telling engine. I love the lighting in those pics.
I love Dead Trees 2. The moon in the background adds another layer to the picture and really makes the foreground stand out. Plus, dead trees and moons, isn't that the epitome of creepy?

Beautiful pictures.
I left the lights at Seth's house colored the way that they were for Nightmare, and I did notice the differences they made in my picspam - like Sarah's green tints under the green light, and the look of the yellow light in the bathroom.
Did you use colored lights in the game or did you edit the pics? The red effect reminds me of my red colorizing, but then the candle stands out as yellow.
Your pictures are always so pretty, and I think your computer is fine - I certainly don't notice anything that seems subpar.

Thanks for having a look guys. I can't figure out that quote thingy so I'll answer questions in my normal style.
raquelaroden - That is my favourite thing in TS3, the lighting, it lends so much atmosphere to the pictures or rather it's a very simple way of injecting atmosphere.
Mondaymorning - I'm so glad you saw the Ophelia/Shalott connection for that one. That was what I was going for! As for the soft green effect, all I did was position one light (normal colour) underneath her. The rest was post processing in photoshop (adding gaussian blur to soften and the overlay and screen on various opacities to bring the image out of the blur a little more.)
lunarfox - One of my favourite trees are those dead ones. I have no idea why but they're so spooky and creepy, they have atmosphere all on their own. And agree with you about the moon and tree.
Stacy - Deadtrees and Lily just used the normal lighting, but Red Is and Darkness used coloured lights. For the series of red pictures, it's all red lighting in-game. I did very very little in photoshop afterwards other than sharpen it a little.

Just in case anyone wants to see it, I've posted one of the pictures I ended up replacing in the latest chapter of the Edith Prescott Mystery series--the issue is what I was babbling on about in my story babble thread. Warning: If you haven't read Chapter 21 of the story, this post will contain a major spoiler. More 'tween the chapters fun
