Have I ever cried over my own writing? Only when I've made myself do so to get in the character's headspace. I'm so glad I live alone because I tend to vocalise tough scenes to make sure they sound believable. Oh, here's a good point - when I'm crying over my own writing, it would probably be this reason as well. Getting into the character's head, and if that character is crying, or sad enough to cry, sometimes it'll make me cry too. Once I'm into the editing stage of writing though, which is more logical than emotional, I'm not as likely to cry over the story anymore. Though then when I get as far as the reading stage, sometimes it'll get me again, lol! I totally talk things out to myself too. Never when my hubby's home, but all the time around my kid! I might have to stop that as he's getting older. I can't even imagine what he thinks of me. He'll probably tell his teacher that his mom has multiple personalities, or imaginary friends, lol! ;D

Ok Van, It happened. I had a physical manifestation moment. Yesterday I was writing a scene for Crime Story, and I felt myself choke up, one tear zig-zagged down my flushed cheek. And I think it is as Laura and Illandyra describes above, I was in the character's head, I was in the moment. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it, it just happens, not that often, though. And other times I may do an emotional scene and...nothing. Emotions are a funny thing.
