I want to crawl through the computer screen and hug and kiss Seth. I always have a tab open with my picspam, just happily staring at him in his little suit making his lovely angry deranged face and feeling a bit of butterflies in my stomach. Is that wrong? Is pixel/human love so against nature? I know at least Monday Morning can understand a bit. Anyone else find themselves more than appropriately attached to some of their characters?

I'm still getting to know my characters.....but there's definitely something about both Nick and Sean, and that's exactly the way I want it. They aren't quite as dreamy as Seth or Rex (confound my inability to make breathtakingly beautiful Sims!), but they have their own charm. And they aren't evil....is that a plus? Or does it somehow detract from their attraction?

It's a good sign if you love your villain. That'll show in the story. Then I'll end up liking him even if he's totally trying to murder the main protagonist. I caught up with Valley of the Sun last night. Now I know just how worried I think I should be. Poor Lilly! raquelaroden, your story is next. I'll keep my eye out on your villains. I have never been one to fawn over pixels, but I find myself feeling the same way about Michael. Just look at him standing there all angry like he wants to rip someone apart with his telekinesis. He can squash a person like a bug with a thought, but acting like a normal human being, understanding them, is almost impossible for him. I find it's a little easier to fall in love with handsome Sims 3 sims. The men look like men, so character with good looks (and great personality, ha!) is so much easier to fawn over.

I don't know what it is about Rex that I find so appealing. Is it his devilish looks? Probably. In real life I am not usually attracted to men of the Latin flavor, but there is just something about this pixelated hunk of pixel flesh that just gets makes me want to scream like a fangirl. I have never, not once, been so into any of my characters, even in non-sims writing. My characters tend to be flat and, although I try, they never really come to life for me. Yet Rex... Rex, Rex, Rex. He's like an incubus at times, and at others, he's the devil. He knows he looks good; he knows he has the power to whisper sweet nothings in your ear while (probably literally) stabbing you in the back. He is just a great piece of canvas with so much unexplored depth to him, that at times, I almost wish I began RT from his point of view entirely. Don't get me wrong, I like Clarissa, but she's just a naive, semi-innocent teenager who's lost her way. But Rex, and sometimes Tam and Seku, just gives me chills. I would gladly wear a I <3 Rex Lucciano shirt in real life if people didn't look at me like I was crazy.

lunarfox: Aww, thanks for planning to read my story--currently, my readers don't really know exactly who the villains of my story are. Nick and Sean are two characters, and Ed (my heroine) is attracted to both. To date, they haven't exhibited any villain-like characteristics.

An interesting question Stacy.
I would say, yes, I've been attached to certain characters, not so much their sim versions though. I can't really create sims how I visualize them so they tend not to be exactly how I think the characters should look.
I would say Markus is one of my favourite characters. He's in a non-sim story and has been around for quite some time. He was sent to hell after sleeping with his boss' wife and getting shot in the head for his troubles. He gets given a chance at redemption eventually.
He's not entirely a bad guy but he's not a good guy either. He does things that are in his best interests but there are always reasons behind his choices. On the surface, people who have read him in my stories have hated him at first and were happy he got what was coming to him but as the story unfolds, they begin to understand him and his choices and they end the story knowing he's not a saint but he's not a devil either. He's just an ordinary guy trying to get by the best way he can, much like the rest of us.

Does the phrase "devishly handsome" ring any bells? ;D Evil people or villians are awesome, because what makes a person good if they don't have a counter part to make them look better?!?!? Heroes can't be made without Villians to guide them after all. I love my villians and treat them with great decency. They are just as complex (if not more) than my heroes. They have backgrounds, goals, and awaiting futures just like any other person walking down the street. Flawed characters are my favorite ones, because who's perfect? How come he can follow his dream and become quarterback of the New England Patriots, but he can't take over the world and make everyone his slaves? Prejudice, I declare!
