The new startup screen. What's listed in the boxes are all the new things - there's a new music channel: hiphop, a new trait: star quality. The mixology semi-profession (which I'm thinking could double well as a profession that doesn't go anywhere - like many real life jobs!) and the new skills - drums, bass, guitar and piano. These next few pictures are from the fly-over. Bridgeport is a large map, at least as large as Twinbrooks, and a lot of it is either water or undecorated terrain. The Map is notionally broken up into 3 areas. The middle peninsula where everyone lives in apartment blocks, and the two land areas where there are larger houses. Get used to this dull sort of lighting - it seems to be typical for the neighbourhood level. Things are much brighter at the sim level though. This is the right-hand side of the map - more houses than the left hand side, and dark grey terrain with touches of green. But no trees? This is the left hand side of the map - not many houses, and lots of this dark grey terrain. There is the area in the peninsula that looks like a docklands area. The Subway is weird. If you are travelling from one place to another and there is a subway, the taxi will drive you to the subway, you take the subway, then a taxi drives you from where you get out of the subway to the new place. The same if you choose to walk.

Weird, creepy and dark! Is that to create a vampiric mood?
Subway! I hadn't realized there was going to be a subway! Neat idea!

From a storytelling point of view - there are a lot of cool places to do city scenes in. The town hall is a combined venue - City Hall, Military and one other I can't think of at the moment. It has a plaza in front - and there are PIGEONS!! The bars are very bar - and... there's some dock areas, construction areas, and other sites that would make terrific backgrounds for different scenes.

Pigeons! Coolness! Can you feed them? Is there a little lady selling bird seed for tuppence a bag?
I bet the dock areas would be great for crime stories and travel stories!

I LOVE the buildings! Wow, those are so pretty! I want them for Lake City! But yes, what's up with the gray terrain? They did the same thing with the default downtown for TS2, all gray concrete-like terrain. Really, when are hills ever made out of concrete? lol! Thanks for sharing these!

Oh! Thank you! Wow, the city looks great despite the dull lighting, which I actually kinda like. I've been wanting a proper city, but too lazy to make my own properly.
You take a taxi to the subway, lol. TS3 sims are obsessed with their taxis! It'd be nice if you could specify walking as a mode of transport.

I'm so excited....I have my copy, but I'm going to wait a little bit to install I think, given the problems people have been reporting. Excitement might get the best of me though, you never know.

Pigeons. Cool. The city looks interesting, if a little bit dark and moody like Twinbrook. I have to wait until Christmas. Not that the latest patch isn't causing me problems anyway.

Got my copy this morning, but I haven't had much time to explore it yet. I didn't really notice the city as being that dark...(maybe my monitor settings are different.) So far, I like the game, except for the camera... I'm finding the camera very difficult to work with, but other than that, I'm happy so far. (I hope it's okay if I share a few pictures...) I love that sims can get stuck in the elevators...It's hilarious! I only managed to check out one club and it was very empty. I was surprised that it stayed that way the entire time I was there. (Not sure if that is normal or not.) I certainly hope the next time I play, there will be more sims around to interact with.

Those are great pictures! Of course it's ok to share - the more the better! Different people spot different things

What Kiri said. Oh those are awesome! This is such a weird question, but how are the bars? In Nightlife, sims could lean on the bar and stuff like that. It came with extra romance socials too. Any new casual animations like the leaning on the bar thing?

It looks so nice! Can't wait until the weekend when I'll finally have time to go and get it. I really want to start a band.

I'm doing the bar scene at the moment - if I find any of those, I'll let you know.

I love those lift doors. There funky. Can woohoo etc in them? Or are they sadly lacking in that department like the cars? Can you woohoo in the hot tubs too?

cpowellscircus I hated the camera too. OMG it drove me up the wall. I had to shut off my game and go grab aikea-guinea's camera mod. I've play-tested and it works fine with the new EP. It can still be a real pain in the ass if you're trying to take pictures from the apartment, but it does help tremendously, I think. (By this, I mean when you move your cam around in TAB mode, it doesn't gush to the right/left/up/down) Great pictures everyone! Maybe I'll upload a few myself today? hmm..

Ooo that's good to know! I use AG's camera mod in my game previously - so will shove it in to LN now too

thevintagesim, thanks for the heads up! I haven't used AG's camera in a while, but I'll look into redownloading it. (Anything to help make the camera mode easier to use.)
