Meet the McTavishams; a family built by their strong founding matron Aislynn when she was forced to leave her life behind her and begin anew in the Covena Isles off the coast of Edamonella with her husband Aldis. As Aislynn and Aldis' children grow and create families of their own, Aislynn's legacy lives on - but with the constant threat of a haunting genetic illness that is almost impossible to detect until it's too late... A/N This is first and foremost a legacy story, surrounding mostly the life of whichever character is the heir-apparent. I try to follow each heir into their adult life and then once the next heir reaches teenage years, I switch perspectives again. The first two generations are, in my opinion, horrible. I strongly recommend picking up with Claire's story (generation 3) here or you can begin with the first synopsis here. There are links all over the place to take you any route you wish to go... I realize it's a big story to take on, first dive. As for warnings; this has adult themes in it. I use language when my characters need to swear, I write about sex, and I have mentioned drugs and other illegal substances before. I try to keep any nudity in pictures to a minimum (have not had photobucket revoke anything yet, so I guess that's a good thing!), and I post warnings on every chapter if it is necessary. Other than that... if you EVER have questions, don't hesitate to ask! I LOVE talking with people (I'm a chatterbox in real life... drives my co-workers bonkers at 9am...) and I'm happy and bubbly and positive almost all the time. I love to write, and this is something I want to pursue for my future; my goal is to become a Romance novelist someday. So this is my foot in the door... my way of working on everything - tension, drama, love, sadness - and EVERY bit of feedback is helpful to me. ... And thank you! I hope I did this right XD

Yay! Just to let you know - I like to read from the beginning, and go through until the end - then wait impatiently for the next updates. I won't comment on the earlier stuff, but I may mention something here. I do start commenting when I've caught up though

Yay And by all means, go for it!! I have so much respect for people that start at the beginning... heh! While you are making your way through it, if you come across any problems with navigation (or have any input!) please let me know... I'm trying to minimize confusion...

It'll take me a while to catch up, but so far I like the story.
PS. Claire looks so much like a girl I know in real life!

Warnings: Semi-realistic birth scene; mildly graphic photos; only three pics this time; lotsa semi-colons... & that's it. Claire was having twins. Twins. She couldn’t begin to describe how completely overwhelming that notion was. She was scared, she was happy, she was worried, she was excited. And perhaps the part that got to her the most after her appointment with Dr. Bolstrom was that this pregnancy was now real. And she’d really have to give birth to not just one baby, but two. At the same time. No one could blame her for being a little freaked out at the idea. -----------------------

The next twelve months brought many firsts into both Claire and Colton's lives. First smiles. First gurgles. First entirely sleepless nights. First laughs. First dances. First teething. First words... They were completely enthralled with their children, like any parent would be. Their entire day revolved around entertaining them, playing with them, encouraging them to learn and grow. Already their personalities were beginning to form.

Colton stumbled to his feet belatedly as the doctor excused herself, his hand against the back of his neck. It was eerily quiet in the small secluded conference room, even though Dr. Mahoney had left the door open. He turned back to see Claire staring off into space, seeing nothing, or perhaps seeing everything in reverse over the last six days.
Or maybe she was listening. Colton tilted his head and closed his eyes a moment, truly taking in every sound he could hear. A muffled television from several rooms over. The hum of the florescent lights. The slight squeak of the rubber sole on the linoleum around the corner. The click of a well-oiled door shutting closed.
For having just thought it was eerily quiet, now all of a sudden it sounded loud and distracting.Warnings: Sexual content, partial nudity, depression, and omg my feet are way too cold. Also, it's long-ish.==================== Want to read more? ====================
