Here be our Sim-selves (TS3)

I've actually been thinking about that and what would be the best way so that anyone can participate no matter TS2 or TS3. (Though, uhm, a sim of myself? LOL!)

Purely optional - if it weirds you out to have a sim-self of people you know in-game, or yourself - feel free to ignore it.

If you have a sim that is recognisably a 'sim' of yours (e.g. Stacy's Seth) you can use that instead. (I hope that makes sense?)

If you are like me and Lunar and would love to be in a house together (but personally I wish we could do it in RL, so Sims is the next best thing) then feel free to join in.

Because they are Sim-selves. There are a few things that make it easier for people to share. Most of these are self-evident, but it's better to spell it out and leave no-one in doubt.

1. Don't share their sims anywhere else without permission.

2. Read their preferences, and stick to them if you're going to upload any pictures.

3. Be thoughtful about what you're ok with, and not ok with. If you can't bear the thought of your sim dying - say so. If you don't want them to hook up with anyone but X, say that too.

4. We'll take it as read, that nudity and sim-porn is out. Sim-Porn is not ok here - regardless. Nudity needs to be on the ok list, and even then - ask before posting.

Apart from that - use common sense!

I'm mostly straight - and I don't mind if my sim-self is gay, bi or anything in-between. I also don't have kids - and would love my sim-self to have some.

If you want to kill my sim off - that's ok too. I can separate fantasy from reality! ;D

I went into CAS and my simself was already there - she was the randomized Sim that shows up when you first open it. Yeah.

I used to have her up but took her down after the secret melt down. Here she is again.

Here's me. I included a sims3pack and a saved sim file. The saved sim file just goes in the saved sim folder and then you can pick the sim in CAS.

Do whatever you like with her! To get the full Lunar effect, I suggest downloading the Odd Socks default replacement. There are more important things to do than worrying about matching my socks.



Also, as a strange note: I don't ever wear make up. Ever. See my reasoning for not matching my socks, lol. So that's really the only objection.

She comes wearing an outfit I actually wear to work. And her lifetime dream is Illustrious author (master the painting and writing skill).


(As an extra side note, I forgot to mention this as a fun fact- I started out with Paula and then modified her to look like me. I didn't touch the nose though, lol.)

So I tried to make her with as little CC as possible. Here's what I have used:

The only pants I deemed cute enough for Laura Sim were the boyfriend jeans from All About Style. (See page two of the bottoms)

For the piercings, I used layerable piercings from here. You can put up to three of those at a time.

I also downloaded a tongue ring from here, but because it seems to take up a full earring slot, I couldn't get it to work with the eye brow ring. Accessories are complicated. I figured well you can see the facial piecings more often than the tongue ring so I went with those.

The hair is from the sims store beach set.

And she has a butterfly tattoo, I am pretty sure it's one that comes with the game.

I'm thinking I'll put us all on Coconut island and then put all the alternate reality sims. But, uh, my computer took a dive again. Just last night as I was placing us in Bridgeport. I had just place Seth in his own home and then my computer died.

I'm pretty sure it's the power supply, so I've already ordered a new one. Newegg is having some awesome sales in case anyone needs any computer supplies right now.

Oooh, these Sims are so great! I actually made a TS3 SimCarla the other day. There's even an EA hair that looks like how I wear mine when I can't find an elastic band (only less slobby looking). But um...I have no idea how to actually package her up and share her. I'm assuming you guys know, seeing you've all managed!

The only surefire way I know that I can direct someone off the top of my head is through CAS. I'm sure you have Master Controller, so you can send her back to CAS that way, and then next to her portrait on the bottom of the screen (the one where you usually click to add more sims) you can click on the "..." button and a mini menu will pop open. There's an icon with a file so you can save your sim to the bin or you can package your sim up.

If you save the sim to the bin, you'll find her by the name you've given her in the Saved Sim folder.

If you package her up for export, look in the export folder.

All right, so I updated my Simself a bit. There's no baby on the way with this copy, just because I figure that would take another house slot and part of the point of this is to throw ourselves into houses with each other.

This version has no CC (not even skintone or eyes, ugh), but it does have a hairstyle from Ambitions.

Go ahead and do whatever you want with her--I can take it. If you want to keep her in character, however, she really won't do much of interest (I promise). I rarely wear makeup, but if I do I usually only wear a bit of eyeliner and mascara, and maybe some lip gloss. I almost never wear anything form-fitting or revealing (to my parents' dismay, when I was a teen). If you have extra sliders, feel free to bump my height down significantly, because I'm only five feet tall IRL. Also feel free to add a bit around the hips--I've got the childbearing hips. My nightclothes never match. My hair is not quite as long as it is on my Simself, but it's close.

You may be able to download her here. I say 'may' because I've never done this before. ;D

Thanks, Lunar! I actually even opened that menu to save her to CAS but I must have missed the option to save her to a file. I'll do that next time I open the game!

My simself is in my avatar and you can download her if you scroll to the bottom here, where you can also pick up a Daye, Kyoti, Lazarus or Populous if you want. All in saved sim format, not sims3packs.

EDIT: I've added a list of her CC next to her download





Traits: Vegetarian, Clumsy, Bookworm, Neurotic, Loner but I am going to swap out these last two for Dramatic and Workaholic at some point. Favourites: indie, yellow, autumn salad (I think!). Star sign: Pisces. LTW: Professional Author because there's no education LTW.

Do what you like with her but if you want to be authentic, stick her in the education career.
