Kind of hesitant to put this up here, but I'm going crazy trying to do something and felt like venting about it.
I have a couple I really want to use, not major characters but kind of major. The female half of this couple is someone born in the game but on the side. I think it's going to be immediately obvious that she's related to one of the families.
I went into Bodyshop and wasted about an hour trying to 'fix' that resemblance. It was a disaster. Removing the features that are so recognizable completely altered her attitude and expression. She looked like a stupid doll.
I'm going to use her as she is. Not sure if I need to come up with an explanation, why does she look so much like X, or simply ignore it.

Well color me intrigued! Now I'm wondering who she is!
It might be fun to have other characters notice that she looks like someone, but never say anything explicitly, LOL.

Thanks Rachel! She was the result of a cross between two early major characters, and I liked the result so much I kept her around just in case. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they would have hooked up although both of them would have had to be unconscious LOL!
That's an interesting idea. Thank you!!

But as far as the storyline goes, she's not *actually* related to either of them? If that's the case, then I wouldn't worry about it. Like Rachel said, you could make something funny of the resemblance. I also can't wait to meet her!

There's no way I'm going to make her related. I'd have to do a lot more with her than I intend to, and given the relationship, she would be a huge character if she was related in the storyline. Although I've learned that sometimes characters run away with you.
Plus a little hair dye works wonders!

Link to problem female and her 'brother'. The resemblance isn't that strong. She looks a lot like her father. Once I put everybody together, there isn't a problem. apologizing for doing this...

Oh my. I'm not half as excited about her as I am about Rob. ROB! *drool*

Rachel, I know...sorry about pushing her up there, but I had to work her out before I could put them together. I'm kind of obsessive about knowing who everybody is and who they are related to and why they are there before I can move forward. We are very very careful about bringing new people into the storyline. Rob will be there. He's definitely sweet! Thank you so much for taking the time on this.

Double drool for Rob!
I think you can pull it off. She does look a lot like her brother but the change in hair color works. The strength of their genes amazes me! I am so excite for the next update!

I'm so glad you put up babble thread. Interesting to see your process. Oh, she is gorgeous. But yeah, different hair color, and I wouldn't notice the resemblance.

The only other thing I thought about would be different eye colour.
I'm also glad you put up a babble thread - I'm intensely curious about how people do their processing.

Lunar, we have a very strict process. No tangents. Everyone has to have a reason to be there, and that reason must further the basic storyline. No pretty people sidestories. If they're born in the game or they have some connection to Cooper, they can be there. Otherwise, no. I made so many mistakes when I first started writing, went all over the place and ended up whacking characters out of there any way I could. Rob and his FWB will have some impact on Coop or they'd never be allowed in. Gratuitous Rob shot.

Kiri, everyone is so different. I think I burned out on tangents early on. We put side stories, like Passages and Rising Above and Chameleon, on separate blogs so we feel free to explore, but, even then, everything ties back to the main story. What we do is so complicated compared to what most people write, apart from the legacies, and they are definitely complicated.

Beth - don't be mean to my friend Beth. I'm glad you put it up here - it was good to see how you work things through. It gives me ideas on how to deal with my own processes.

Beth, you are awesome, and there is nothing wrong with venting. You've been through a ton of heavy stuff lately, and that doesn't even begin to describe it

Kiri and Van, thank you. Van...yes it's been a ton and I have some really bad days. Wish I was awesome! Thank you so much for sticking with me. Not an appropriate topic for babble and I feel bad about it.

Actually - I think it's entirely appropriate for a babble.

Thank you, Kiri..
In between some intense personal drama in my house (like that's new and different), Gayl and I brainstormed about the next piece. I tend to get stuck on THE ONE GREAT SHOT. I want that shot. The whole piece should revolve around my one great shot.
Well it doesn't work. The shot doesn't fit there. We can't make it fit there. It would require everybody to act out of character to accommodate it. I wish I could say this is the first time I've done that, but of course it's not. So I have to come up with something more sensible.

I'm late as usual but just jumping in here to say that I would babble about Sessions anytime, especially if it involves picutures of Rob
