Links and pictures to follow later. I want this up quickly for Carla.
1. Open Process Explorer. At the top is a bar "File Options View Process Find Handle Users Help"
Select "Find"
2. Drop down menu says - Find handle Ctrl+F Find DLL Ctrl+E
Select "Find Handle"
3. This will bring up a window. In the Handle or Type section, type part of the name of your folder that's locked. and Press search.
The bottom part of the window will fill with the processes that are currently using a handle with that in it's name.
It won't be in the process - just listing the processes.
4. Click on a process in the bottom part of the "find handle" window.
Then look back at the bottom part of the main window. It will list all the resources that the process is using.
Look for an entry with type of File, and a name that is your folder's name.
5. Select it with a Right-click (i.e. a right-click menu) one of the options will be 'Close Handle'.
Select that option.
6. All being well, you'll get a warning message box. Click yes to continue.
The entry will go red, and then disappear.
At this point you have released the lock on the folder.
When you go back to windows explorer, you can try deleting the folder then.

Thanks so much for your help, Kiri! Unfortunately, it didn't do the trick in this case. :\ I still can't delete the file or the folder - it just keeps telling me the file is corrupt and unreadable.
