Stacy encouraged me to start a thread so here goes...
Just That Close is the title I came up with, honestly, from an episode of Big Valley. I remember a scene where a young lady talks of her and her father's dreams of making it big. She said "Papa, always said, we're just that close to making it..." but in the end of the episode she dies, never having achieved her hearts desire. Why? She was so consumed with "making it" that she sabotaged her own plans and died having been, "Just that close".
I couldn't think of a title after having finished the first chapter . So I thought of the hidden motivations behind the characters' actions and they echoed of that BV line. Thus, the title and the poem that explains it all (mostly all).
