I like adjectives. I know Hemingway didn't. For freshman English in high school I had to go through The Old Man and the Sea and list ten adjectives. Had to reread the whole book to find them.
But that's probably why he's not one of my favorite authors and why reading his stuff for school was a chore.

That was an interesting link. Thanks Carnaxa. Sometimes it's nice to be reminded that even those of us who lack the ability to make language sing still have a chance. ;D
I don't mind adjectives, but sometimes it's clear when someone is going a little overboard and using a thesaurus. After a while, language that is too descriptive, too flowery can weigh the story down and almost threatens the honesty of the piece.
I think that as a reader, writer and in life in general, I'm rather a bit blunt.

I was walking to my train and saw this sign lying on the sidewalk. It reminded me of this post, even though it has eight words. Now I'm distracted at work thinking of six-word stories. This is bad, because they're all about heartbreak and because I'm also totally swamped. ^_^ Attachments:
