Whatever you decide, Stacy, I will definitely enter. Since I already have so many projects planned, I don't feel like it would be fair to me to suggest a topic, but I'll have great fun playing with whatever you come up with.

Maybe something on a Bonfire Night/Guy Fawkes theme?
*Wonders if other countries have Bonfire Night on 5th November*

That's just y'all. Guy Fawkes didn't try to blow anything up anywhere else. ;-)
But I do think Bonfire Night sounds neat. What do y'all do aside from lighting fires and shooting off fireworks?

Hahaha, yes. Am such a geography noob.
Um, yeah, we do that stuff, mostly. In the cold. And usually in the rain.
We burn a guy, which could be interesting story material: not just Guy Fawkes, but an effigy of anyone people don't like much. Kids collect a 'penny for the guy' in the run up. We eat lots of scrummy food too: baked potatoes, cinder toffee, tiffin, parkin, peas, toffee apples, soup... though I guess that's less relevant...
I think fire, fireworks, or the idea of burning a "guy" could all have a lot of different potential story options for words and/or pictures.

LOL, yes, that's a great spark for a story! I'm in! Or well, mine is going to be more of a scene than a story, I think. I already have something in mind. We're allowed to use existing characters, right? I don't usually do these challenge things, but I think this one might be able to be worked into my story

I don't think there are any rules, Laura. :-D
I already have a bit of a scene planned, too. Maybe just one photo. If it looks like I'm picturing in my head, I'll share it, even if this doesn't end up being the official challenge theme.

Guy Fawkes... treason, dynamite, flames and tragedy? Shoot, I better brush up on fotoflexer, Gimp, whatever... Won't promise anything, but I'll give it a try.

I've got an idea for this but I really want some woolly hats, scarves, gloves etc for the sims in it to wear: anyone know of good CC sites that would have those things? There are so many CC sites I feel a bit overwhelmed at knowing where to look. I am also considering waiting until after WA before I stage it because it looks like that may have fireworks in it - I can tell the story I'm thinking of without them but they'd be a nice touch.

Oooh, thanks for the links!
I guess there'll eventually be some sort of seasons pack with proper winter woolies in but I want them now!

Rad (and others) - I just noticed a man's sweater with a scarf at the EA Store. Under men's tops.

Oooh, shall check that out. I won't be doing this until right at the end of the month. Am in a play DAHLINGS and can't find time to Sim much right now, plus I want to wait and see what staging/costuming possibilities WA offers that'll help. You know when you picture something so strongly in your mind that it's annoying if you can't get the tools to make it work? That's what I'm having right now for this story.

Yep. I know that annoyance pretty darn well.
Ooooh a play, Dahling! How exciting! Are you having a good time?

Well... it's very intense, and my character kills herself, so um, it's a bit emotionally tiring. But the cast and crew are a lot of fun and I do get a buzz from being on the stage. Which is such a luvvie thing to say.
The story I am planning for this is going to be quite sweet and nice. With the play and work and study and writing the Lazaruses there's enough drama and intensity in my life right now.

Oh, yes. I can totally see why you want to do a warm fuzzy right now.
I am starting on my own Guy Fawkes project this evening - I'm just grabbing a few downloads for it now.

~giggling at the warm fuzzy/woolen mittens funny~
Why does Amazon tell me that it will only start shipping WA on the 23rd? I want my fireworks before that! ~pout~
ooooo a play! Tell us what it is! When is opening night?

It's called The Children's Hour. We opened on Weds and we finish tomorrow, so the intensity isn't going to be sustained for too long

Just read a summary of it online - whoa, it does sound intense. Anyway, can't sleep so here's my challenge entry. Only ended up with one screenshot. But it was fun to do. Even though I couldn't find anything at all like what I needed for the clothing. catherinesimmer.livejournal.com/4143.html
