Oooh, these are gorgeous! I love to see what everyone else picks for the #1, name slot, because that one always stumps me, lol!
All very cool, clean, and logical! They suit him well. I'm intrigued by the last one too, but I can see it.

Thanks all! I don't think I'm all that great at making sure the pictures work together color-wise, etc., but I had fun doing it, and what's more is that I found some things about about him that I hadn't really thought about before. He definitely identifies himself as this coolly rational, deliberate, controlled person. But like the last one suggests, occasionally he gets these little twinges of something else, and this need to stop thinking and just do. DB: The linguini in clam sauce wouldn't have been too far off, because when I asked him what he liked, he said just about any kind of seafood. Even calamari (yuck). Carla: I think his answer to #7 is definitely expected, but also maybe a bit telling when it comes to some of the choices he makes and the things he doesn't do (especially when you compare it to Sean's answer, which you'll probably see in the next mosaic). Sfe: Yep, yep, a new character will be introduced, and I think this person is my most interesting character, by far. What's so funny is that this character's storyline probably isn't as important as some of the others who won't be featured in a mosaic, but I'm so intrigued by the character that I want to make one anyway. Laura: I was all excited to start my mosaic and I took such care to find out the answers to the questions. So here I was, ready to look through flickr to find images to use and the first answer was "Nicholas". That put a bit of a damper on my excitement! But I looked up the meaning of his name, and it was something like "people of victory", so I looked up "victory". As a concept, victory fits him because he's pretty competitive.

Oh, looking up the name's meaning for #1 is a great idea too! I've just been slotting in an extra image that feels kind of "representative" of them, if that makes any sense, lol! I might try your idea next time though!

Laura, I looked at everyone's mosaics to see what they did for the name slot, but the idea to look up the meaning of the name came when I saw Corbin's, because the word "honesty" made me think of baby name meanings, for some reason.

I can't Sim while away from home, but I can make more photo mosaics! Here's one for Sean: 1. First Name: Sean (God is gracious, gift of God) 2. Favorite Food: mom's lasagna 3. Favorite Color: blue 4. Favorite Weather: spring-like sunny days 5. Favorite Drink: Patron shots w/lime and salt 6. Dream Vacation: a trip to Greece to tour the ruins 7. One of the things I love most in the world: really hot sex 8. One of my hobbies: plays guitar 9. Currently reading: the latest Fables volume (graphic novel) 10. Worst thing that ever happened to me: my father's death 11. One word that describes me: mischievous 12. Something Else: afraid to lose

Wow to #7 - get ready, Ed!
"Mischievous" is perfect for Sean as well. #12 is very intriguing.

Yeah, number 7....he was quite adamant about that answer.
It actually stumped me for a little while, trying to find the right word to describe him. Finally I figured it out, but I really have no idea why it took me so long!
#12 is something that probably doesn't seem too apparent right away, particularly because he's so laid back most of the time...

I'm completely intrigued by some of the choices: I would never have thought Nicholas would feel somewhat resentful about getting stuck with the good guy role all the time (but who wouldn't), and Sean and his #12 really astonished me. It makes me take a whole new look at both of them, and that is the fabulous thing about this process if you do it carefully, the way you've done.
The first name thing is hard. I haven't found using the name's meaning makes it any easier. A lot of names are 'child of god' 'oath of god', stuff like that. You can only use a pic of an angel so many times LOL! I'm not sure it's even a good question to use since it doesn't tell you anything about the character: they didn't name themselves.
The question about what are you reading was even harder though. I like the way you did it.
Just beautiful!!

Oh #12 for both Nick and Sean really add something to both the characters. I was surprised by Nick's #12, but not Sean's. He doesn't come across as a classic competitive character, but I can see that when he goes after something, he really goes after it. Just look at the way he's gone after Ed. He's forceful and gentle. Aware that he needs to press, but that she also needs her space. Even dealing with her and her issues at all takes a special kind of person willing to do what they must to reach the end goal, whatever that is.
And yeah, I had the same reaction when it came to #7. Woo! Love that picture. Oh my.

I adore these mosaics. I wonder if there's a way we can frame them and hang them in our characters' homes?
Sean's #11 is too cute.

So funny to see everyone's reactions to #7. It couldn't be that surprising. Beth, I think I took the book reading question from Laura's mosaics, because I loved what they added to her characters. But once I did, I realized just how difficult it was to figure out what in the world they were reading. With Nick, it's a very quiet and moralistic mystery series written by a classic author. With Sean, his attention span isn't likely to hold out for classics all that much (not that he isn't smart enough to wade through them, just that they aren't his favorite things to read) and for some reason, I also picture him as being the type to crawl into bed and almost immediately fall asleep. He doesn't read in bed that often, and if he does it has to be something fairly short because he tends to wait until he's exhausted before he goes to bed. Nick is more likely to crawl into bed and really need to read before he goes to sleep--he needs to relax his brain and forget his worries. He tends to hold onto his stress more than Sean, I think. Illandrya has hit the nail on the head with #12--it isn't as much a competitive thing as it is an emotional thing for him. Once he's attached, he's very afraid of losing something, and it can cause him to act in surprising ways. Rad, I had quite a time trying to find a good picture to represent "mischievous"! I ended up going with that picture because I liked the way it worked with the other pictures in terms of color and composition, but also because it really did seem to represent the word better than any of the other pictures I'd managed to find.

Illandrya said: And she borrowed it from me I'm very much a bibliophile and find the type of book one reads can really say a lot about a person. `~~~~~~~~~ Oh? I wonder what it says about me, I am reading 'Kiss of the Highlander' right now... ;D and Rachel, these mosaics were dynamite, since I am just getting into your story, I learned a lot about the characters, and I am rubbing my hands together at Sean's #7. Oh, the possibilities~

Illandrya: I don't know why you'd be surprised that you are right! Drew: When the mood strikes, a good romance novel is the perfect thing! For some reason, around the holidays I'm especially prone to read them. I'm so glad you are finding the mosaics helpful! I have to admit that I am, too.
