[post] mortem is a story about love, loss and the undead. Set in a sleepy northern California town, it follows a lawyer who is very inconvenienced by the recent death of her ex-fiancee, a mysterious police detective who only works the night shift, and a famous mystery novel writer who's dealing with some serious changes. So far I've posted two chapters over at my dreamwidth. Chapter One: Too Fast to Live...Chapter Two: ...Too Young to DieIf you read and you feel so inclined, I'd love to know what you think.

OMG. I haven't finished the first chapter yet and I have to go to bed in a few minutes, but so far it's freaking awesome! Already added you to my blogroll. And welcome to VSS. I think you'll fit in just fine.

I haven't read it yet, but I have to say that I LOVE the title. It's very eye-catching. : )
I will go read it now. The summary makes it sound like my kind of story.
EDIT: Just read the first chapter and I left a comment on your blog. You have a new fan.

I've read the first two chapters and I'm completely hooked. I love the suspense and the interactions between Phil and Chuck. Great start to the story.

This is great. Really different, really intriguing, and some fab sets to boot.

Thanks Rad! It's funny that you mentioned the sets. Sometimes I spend more time on them than I do on writing. Chapter Three's up now. The longest one so far. In this chapter, Max and Phil scramble to figure out the mystery surrounding Chuck while Chuck's little brother Jamie struggles with what to do with his inheritance. Some great staging in this chapter. Really nice shots.
I am intrigued by the dynamics between the different characters at the moment. There seem to be a lot of tensions and power struggles under the surface and it'll be interesting to see whether that all boils over.

I love a good power struggle. Writing arguments is a bit too much fun.
Thanks for your comments.

Got a new chapter up faster than usual this time. Actually it's like half a huge chapter since I'm going on vacation Thursday for a week. I wanted to get something out before I left and the next bit was turning out to be very long, so I wrote about half and posted it. Click on the image above to read it. Feel free to leave comments.

Chapter Six is up! Click on the picture to read it. Look out for an interlude in the next few days. Think of it as a little more insight into part of what happens in this chapter. And as always, feel free to leave comments.

I was going to leave a comment on your blog, but it seems it's set to only allow comments from DW accounts, and I don't have one. EDIT: AH nevermind. It seems I got logged out of open ID and didn't realize it!
But I am loving your story. Delilah and her brother are hilarious together. The whole story with Simone is interesting too. I think you've nailed the rich princess celeb that she is perfectly. I feel bad for poor Delilah having to deal with that. And especially with her almost missing her date with Max. I'm rooting for those two.
I love Chuck. Poor guy. How horrible for him. I keep wondering what'll happen if he runs across Delilah again.

Thanks for your great comments. I was really glad to read what you said about Simone and her story. I wasn't sure if she and it were working out as well as I wanted. She is a hoot to write though. And her name's Delia by the way.
