I, for one, will be really sad if this forum turns into mostly full-text. It's not even that I think the writing in the forum can't stand on its own, and I certainly don't want people to do things that they don't like to do--I think it's that I'll feel a little lonely. I think one of the main things that keeps me writing my story is that there's the added fun of capturing the pictures, and if everyone else goes full text here....I'll kinda feel like the last girl to stop playing with her Barbies. Like I said, though, I wouldn't want anyone to do something that is a chore. I nearly made a career out of that. I imagine that when this isn't fun anymore, I'll stop....I just hope that I at least finish my Ed Prescott series before I lose the spark.

I don't think it will - and hey, I've got a couple of Sims story ideas kicking around, actually. I hope that even if it does become not fun anymore you'll still hang out with us, because you're awesome and I love you.

Awww, Rachel! Even if I don't post Sim-stories anymore, I'll certainly still be playing with my Barbies! I even have Sims of my novel characters, and house-models built of some of my story locations. It does help to see everything visually sometimes. My move to full-text will be mostly inspired by having so many "serious" projects to work on that I won't have time to write a Sim-story too. Not that I don't enjoy it though. Even if I am a bit burnt out on all the set-up required, it is still fun most of the time.

I'm feeling rather lazy in terms of posting Sim pictures. I have some text written for my next post and sometimes the thought of starting up the game gets a bit daunting. I might have to creatively (re)shoot some scenes, which sucks. So I'm completely understanding with Team Lazy. But I agree with Rachel. There's something nice with putting faces to the stories. I don't want this not to be fun and challenging and interesting to me anymore. Like Laura, I'll still play with my kids even if there's no story for them.

Don't worry Rachel, I'm not through with my dolls yet. It really helps to make a sim of the character I'm writing about. Plus I can't picture layouts, so it helps to download buildings that are exactly what I need and then I think of those layout when I'm writing, lol. Right now I just don't feel like doing the world building aspect, and I don't know how I'm going to get around that because I have a very clear image in my head of what Paula will see when she peeks out the window and I don't want to make it. As for the next story, I don't know. We shall have to see. I guess it'll depend on the end of the story since I don't have that written out yet.

Ditto! But replace that with a very clear image of two women sitting on the floor, one of them with her knees bent to her chest, hiding her face, while the other reaches over to hug her. How the crap am I supposed to Sim that!?! lol!

Heheh... same here. My offline work is full text, and in all honesty I think my full text writing is of much better quality than my Sims writing, but I can't see any of my current Sims stuff suddenly working sans pictures--I'm stylistically committed

There is a difference between Ruin with pics and Ruin without. Part of it is the pictures, but the other part is just the way I tell stories to you weekly online is different than the way I would tell you a story handed over all at once in the form of a book. This is something I realized before, but I didn't realize just how differently the story would be until I started proper work on it.

...The last chapter's cliffhanger was pretty cruel. Will they actually go into the lab in the next chapter? I want to knooooooow. Amazing stuff (once again). I wish I could leave a longer comment, but I'm strapped for time.

:hugs: It's cool by me. Haha, yeah this storyline is a little slow. That's part of why I wasn't sure I wanted to post it. That I don't have it completely written out myself yet, lol.

Just wanted to comment as I haven't yet reached the most current chapter - I started Ruin today and wow! I started only with the intention to read a few chapters and go on from there to some other sites I want to dip into. I'm still reading . The care you take in putting this story together, the characters and their history all comes through and makes it very rich. I love detail and Ruin is not in short supply. I had to let you know because I haven't commented yet. I will though once I get current.
